No Vulcan then ?

Harm wrote in post #16023937 (external link)
No, I was surprised about that. I thought it was a staple of the flyovers...

XH558's no longer part of the RAF (for about 20 years). The Vulcan to the Sky group had booked her for another air show that weekend. They did fly a tribute as part of the Diamond Jubilee festivities.

Omar, what is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

African or European?

Oh, and Lisa - if Dan plans to go back to Canon, I'd suggest you do the same for economy, efficiency, and redundancy. As to which brand's better, the quote in Jay's sig. pretty much says it all.

Offhand, does anyone know which, if any, tablets support Word and PowerPoint documents? I have all of my school notes on my laptop and would love to have them in a more portable, yet readable, form. I don't want to print everything since they are laden with colour diagrams and pictures. Must have WIFI capabilities.

There are a few MS Office compatible programs for the Android tables. My two-year-old ASUS Transformer came with Polaris Office which can read and edit pretty much any Word or Excel (that isn't too complicated) file. I've never tested it with a PowerPoint file, though.

Edit: I just launched Polaris Office on my tablet and it says it supports PP also.

lots of tablets support cloud office options (like "cloudon" app)

or Quick office pro HD app or documents to go app both do microsoft word and powerpoint.
(for android)

I use the ipad & I believe (though I'm not sure because I've never tried) that the apple apps (pages, keynote & numbers) will open microsoft documents.

Good point. I believe Google Docs also supports MS Office apps. So, as long as you have a Google/Gmail account, anything with a web browser should do the trick.

Do you want to be able to edit, or just read them?

My Nexus 7 reads all of the Microsoft Office apps, including PowerPoint files.
