Ankle's been a problem for a while and I've been training really hard for an upcoming hike walking 7~10 miles a day and have really aggravated it. Back I did something stupid, trimming down a hedge with a chainsaw and cramped it really bad. Been sore for a couple days but getting better.

Have a fantastic vacation, Mel! Wish mine was going to be as great. I'm just going to lounge/work at home. :)

A vacation where you work at home? We call that, uh....working around here. :)

Ice Flo.

That chick that does those Progressive Insurance commercials?... apparently she's frigid. And all this time I had her pegged as a sex freak.

Damn have you tried staying off your feet for a couple of days to let the ankle rest up?

It's way more than that. I wore a pair of Meril Trail Glove (external link) shoes for about two years. The most comfortable shoes I ever wore but they totally messed up my tendons in my feet. I think part of it was that they were cut too low and rubbed on my peroneal tendons and the achilles tendons. But they also caused my calf muscles to really tighten up basically to a point where I could hardly walk. I have been nursing them back but it's been a year and they are only now getting better. Recently my wife got this thing that basically looks like a rolling pin meant to roll out muscles and tendons (external link). It hurts like crazy but it is helping a lot.

Let me tell you, when she hit the right spot, that little sucker really hurts, but it does loosen things up and afterwards it a whole lot better. One foot is almost back to normal and my dominant foot is getting better.
