Do you ever close your pool?

We didn't last year but we moved in December 12th and the previous owner left it open. This year we will close it. The pool temp has dropped significantly at 83 in the morning and making it to 85 by evening. It's refreshing but not a temp that you want to lounge around in. I'm making a cover for the spa from 2 sheets of plywood and will let it drain completely and probably will close up the pool at the end of the month or maybe into next month. Last year the leaves were a real pain in the a$$ so I want to cover the thing. Plus, we don't need to filter all year if we're not swimming.

JJ how high is the ground water where you live? When I had a place with a pool, the ground water was only about 6-7 feet down. If I had drained the pool, it would have "floated" and popped out of the ground.

I won't drain it, just drain the filter, plumbing, chemical the heck out of it and cover the thing. But ground water? There's not ground water. I live on top of a rock. ;):)

That sounds like hot tub conditions to me. We swim in the river at our rec land, and the temps are rarely above 10°C (50°F). We do just play around a bit, dive and and swim for a short while, and not really lounge in either though. Living this close to the mountains, warm natural water temps are not too common, short of natural hot pools. :)

edit: Oh yeah, we only do so when it is warm out and the sun is shining too. ;)

In the middle of summer it ranges from 91 to 93 at the highest. It was really comfy. You could stay in for a long time without getting chilled. It was a place to relax. Now it's down to 83 to 86 and though it's still comfy, you definitely don't want to just float around as you'll get chilled in a few minutes. It's a place to cool off. Once it drops below 80, it's a place to jump into to sober up. ;):)

I went directly from bed this morning to the pool. Nice way to wake up. Gorgeous weather; high will be in the low 90's.

I think the water temp is about 80 now; very nice. Gets near 90 in the middle of the summer. I hate that.

So I went to the Dentist for the first time in 7 years, for xrays and a new patient exam. Aced it. No Cavities, just need a cleaning and my wisdom teeth aren't impacted, but they should probably come out.

I'll take it.

I still have my wisdom teeth. They have yet to pay off in the wisdom department, but I'll probably have them forever.

I had to have my wisdom cut out when I was a teenager. My jaw and neck swole up so much, my friends took to calling me, "Puff the Magic Moose."

 Mine were coming in fine, in fact there's really only one that's an issue, so I have to have that side taken out, and the dentist was like, you might as well just have them all taken out. None of them are impacted though, so they shouldn't be that bad to have taken out.

They didn't put me under at all... and had to break and cut them out. Quitchur whining, wuss-boy. :)
