Another night of freezing rain here. Oh boy.

Is your rain doing the proper thing and fall down, ours had this weird idea and decided to fall sideways.;)

No rain for a few hours now. Just spent an hour or so trimming fallen branches.

Ours is playing nice and coming straight down....for a change. Temperature at ground level is bouncing around the freezing point....so it freezes and thaws. Hope it continues on this cycle. Things were getting pretty slick, but they have since melted.

Our snow turned into freezing rain. 6" of slop to drive through this morning.

I so don't miss that. It's cloudy and a bit muggy, I can handle that way better.

How is the new house coming along?

I've already been through a TX summer. I moved here 7/1 so I know what coming. I dont mind the heat so much especially with a pool. The mid-days become brutal but the mornings and evenings are really nice. It might be a bit different now that we are so close to the lake though. Not sure what the humidity is going to be like.

As to the house, we are slowly getting settled in. Functionally it's all set up. This weekend was a push to get both cars into the garage. We succeeded though I still have a bit of organizing to do. We have really sorted and recycled, donated, or disposed of a whole lot of stuff for instance, I had maybe 4 tupperware containers filled with xmas lights. You know, those strings where one section goes black but the rest work and you put it into a tupperware with others like it promising to fix them next xmas but they sort of get pushed to the back of the attic and stay there forever.

Not as crisp as could be, using the 70-200 (@200mm), was about 14°F and a bit windy on sat night!

Hi Nick, how was DC?

Crazy.

I ended up with 45 hours of overtime last week. This year was supposed to be a lot easier, but there were some scheduling issues with the hotel and such so it ended up being even crazier than last year (we were setting up/running a conference). I got a whole 45 minutes to spend in DC and didn't get to really do anything but it was nice to get out of the hotel yesterday.

I did get to shoot the band that played on Saturday with a 70-200 2.8 IS II though, first time I had used that lens. Such a nice lens (I've used by F4 IS and a 2.8 IS, but never the MKII).

I'm back at work today, thought I came in late. It was nice to get a full nights sleep versus the 2 hours I got on Friday, but I'm realizing that my brain is still completely fried. It's really hard to focus today.
