Well the rain has finally headed south down into NSW and causing flooding down there! Bundaberg is having the worst flood on written record, all roads north and west are still cut. Maryborough, Gympie are under metres of water, the Brisbane Valley (Laidley etc) is under again, Ipswich and the western suburbs.

Thousands of houses are going under as the water heads for the coast, it is bloody terrible. Brisbane itself is flooding again. I cannot believe it, it has only been 2 years since the last one. We sustained minimal damage at home, we were very lucky, the Island looks like a warzone with trees down everywhere, but that is nothing compared to what the people in the path of the water are going through.

The worrying part is we have over 2 months left in the cyclone season! I hope we don't have any more. People who were flooded last time cannot get flood insurance any more and most have only just moved back in again after repairing the damage from the last flood, now they have been hit again! I can see a lot of people just walking away from their homes, they are just devastated.

It's amazing, that 2 years ago (Nov & Dec '10), we were in those very areas. Having to go through Gympie up the Tin Can Bay road (staying the night and then feeding the wild dolphins that come to the bay) and then through Maryborough to get to Hervey Bay. Although, the day we left Brissie to head back down to Sydney, that afternoon, our friends told us that it rained, and rained for about a month or so!

Wasn't Bundy ****ed with the rains last year too?

I hope you, and everyone else in the area comes through with no to minimal issues!!

Nowhere near as bad as this time Harm, the area has had 4 times the rainfall. It came up so fast once it broke the banks of the Burnett River people only had time to climb on their roofs, they were trapped from all sides. They called for voluntary evacuation the night before, but many stayed, which created havoc for rescuers. The latest casualty was a little 3 year old boy, he was hit by a falling tree. That brings it to 4 dead now. One was a 27 year old motorbike rider who was swept off of a flooded bridge trying to ride across it. My only question is why? I have an AWD SUV and even I would not drive across a flooded bridge! Such an unnecessary waste of life.

It's a sad thing, but as my Great Uncle always said "keeping the gene pool clean."

It's a turkey ball (ground turkey meat ball) covered in bbq sauce.

Good morning class. Bit stormy here today, or at least it's coming. Listening to the weather talking heads you would think it's the end of the world.

Sounds like what they are calling for here tomorrow. Heavy rain and hurricane force winds. Oh boy.
