I've only had one furkid make it to/past 17. That was a pure-bred Siamese cat who never really was all that comfortable in my multi-furkid home. She spent most of her time hiding from the other critters in closets and cabinets. She was about 19 when she died.

The longest-lived dog I ever had was Muffin, a little wire-haired terrier-something mixed mutt who I finally had to have put down in 1996 at the age of 16. That decision and a very personal memory a coworker of mine told me about the next day inspired me to write this short story.

They absolutely have a 6th sense. My 17 year old furkid is totally deaf but yet he knows when one of our cars is about to come home. It can be a block away but he knows.

YAY my work computer has just been taken over by the Ukash virus, it is locked with a meesage that saysI have to pay a fine withing 72 hours to get it unlocked. Considering we are supposed to have state of the art virus protection it has managed to get around it. Just as well I have a backup and can format the hard drive if I need to! They won't get a single cent out of me or my company that is for sure! I have the I.T. guru coming in, he reckons he can get rid of it.
