I have several shots of my children sitting on a sea wall in front of the ocean. The ocean isn't quite straight across so I fixed it. But then I noticed that the sea wall they were sitting on isn't straight. So do I correct it so the horizon is straight or that the sea wall is straight? If you need an example, I can post a pic. :) Thanks in advance!

Without seeing the picture, I'd say the horizon should be straight. Horizons are always straight when you look at them (unless you're lying down) whereas other elements can change, depending on your perspective. That isn't to say you can't get an interesting composition from a crooked horizon.

Yes, the horizon should be straight. It's possible to take the picture at an angle to the wall, thus making it appear tilted. But the horizon should always be level.

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.
