Thanks Pete! I need to learn to slow down and pay more attention to detail when shooting. I think I'm getting better though.

Very nice everyone.

Will be back soon. iMac grenade on me. Only 1 1/2 years old. Apple will do nothing.

So, new search begins. Don't know if I want another all in one with a touch screen or traditional desktop with everything .......

Ungood Pete! And, it's not that Apple will do nothing. They will fix it for a nominal fee ;-)a I hope you had your stuff backed up.

I did indeed have it backed up. I lost a few but have the ones I really cared about.

Yep, Apple contacted me and said they would fix it out of warranty. Thing is, I do not know if I would be able to trust it in the house again.

have you thought about time machine on a nas? My MacBook backs itself up daily automatically. If it ever fails I can get a new MacBook , click restore and it will put everything back as it was and I wouldn't be able to tell its a different machine all the way down to the items on your desktop and background wallpaper etc

Thanks Eddie for the info

Apple finally called and said it was of course , going to be an out of warranty repair. SO I got to looking at it real good. In the center of the screen you can see a spot. Like where it got too hot. Then there was the smoke coming out of the back. Not a lot but still there. Then you could smell the smell of an electrical short. Plus the power cord was singed where it plugs into the back of the computer. Will not even try to power up. So this would be costly. Also, I do not like the fact I have to enter a credit card number to get a free upgrade from apple.

So today, I went back to Windows. 10 to be exact. It came on my new puter. I got a Dell XPS 8900. 32 gigs of RAM, 2 TB hard drive with a killer graphics card. Also picked up some Klipsch THX 2.1 speakers. Was going to go with the Bose but I had a chance to hear them side by side. Man the Klipsch rock! and at a $100 cheaper also than the Bose.

So I will get caught up on the photos. Only a week behind. Shortly. Got to learn a new OS first

I feel kind of silly now. I have a nas, but have time machine on an external hard drive. Why didn't I just use the nas?
Gah. I'll be changing that up tonight and I can use the external hdd for other things.
