The seasonal creek that runs behind our house. In a normal rain year it would be running, but we're in a drought with no predicted rain for the rest of April. There's just a few pools of stagnant water in the deeper parts of the creek bed - something that doesn't normally happen until July. Haven't had much time to shoot this week because I've been clearing out the brush in preparation for fire season. The creek makes for a good fire break once the banks are cleared of the dead stuff. It's going to be a long hot summer.

13/52 - nothing worth powering up even the phone camera

14/52 walked around the rose garden at the city park. Some of the bushes are full of blooms and healthy, others not so much. I don't know if the leaves are supposed to be variegated like this, but it was beautiful, lots of blossoms and lots of leaves.

Pentax K100D/Kit 18-55

Is that in the Orchid family?
My wife has quite a few different orchids but I don’t recall seeing one like that. It does have that orchid look to it too.

As far a I know Jack is not of the orchid family.

Super windy day, I had a hard time standing, but I think maybe it wasn't quite as bad at ground level
