I attended a local polar bear swim yesterday afternoon, and this one guy jumped in the frigid lake in a suit and tie! This is the shot from that moment... pls let me know what you think!

Great capture - good timing, composition, & exposure; but it feels a little tilted to the left to me.

What do you mean, "tilted to the left"? Are you referring to the crop? There was another guy coming in behind them I cropped him out... maybe I should have left him in?

If you take note of the onlookers, they look a little tilted to me, too. Either they've all been drinking, or you need to adjust clockwise a little ;)

This is another photo of the same event... in this shot the guy is being chased in by Santa!

Tilt is a very easy fix. What processing software are you using?

I'm using LR3, and I think I managed to get it corrected! Thanks for the help! :)

I did submit to some local papers, and to CTV news... CTV did publish it online and credit the photo to me, with a sentence or two about what was going on. :) I don't care that I didn't get paid for it - I was tickled pink to see it on the news! :D

I'd say the guy was a fruit loop but so are all the other ones jumping into freezing water haha

I hope that he had a dry Speedo to get into afterwards! heheheh

Congratulations on the news thing, that's pretty cool too!

I once took a test in the river water and the water was ICE COLD to me, at 70 degrees,
and I had a wetsuit on in May.
This was more like 45 degrees in that pool probably, I can't imagine the GASP they did when they plunged. heheh
