A Series of Cedar Ridge Photos

Snow flurries and bitter cold have kept me holed up in the house this new year. After admiring at all the beautiful warm weather images on POTN, I have been reviewing my summer and fall photos. Since, for various reasons, I didn't post any warm weather shots this summer and fall... I thought I would pick out a variety of my ridge birds, located here above Lake Superior. I usually spend the summer and fall months concentrating on wood warbler images, which are my first love. This year I observed 21 different species here on my ridge, the most I have seen was 23.

Here are a few warblers and others from the warm(er) weather months.

Myrtle Warbler

It sure looks like you had a great summer db, kind of hard to pick one over the other but, that Magnolia sure is pretty!

It does my heart good to see some of our summer friends again, Dave; it gives me hope they will return, even as the sun is once again headed our way. Great photos.

An excellent set Dave. I really like the setting of the Flicker image but they're all great!

Wow, great shots...Lovely light and backgrounds!

Love your warblers always, Dave, but in this set the Flicker and the Red Poll really stand out. The way the light plays right on the Flicker is great!

Good evening Bret... it was a good summer on the ridge, more busy than I like to be in retirement... but the interacting with my birds provided a restful & serene pace... thanks my friend.

It is good to review past summer photos Al... It is interesting to find decent shots one misses when going back through the archives....
Have been gone for the day, half way across the state... snow flurries and clouds in the morning and beautiful sunshine on the way back.. saw 9 eagles and got a few nice shots... thanks my friend.

Thank you... The 300 f/4 and 400.... the Blackburnian was shot with the 70-200 f/4.
