I've registered my Sigma 50mm 1.4 from Gentec and was curious to those who have registered before if you are suppose to receive an confirmation email either from Sigma or Gentec that your lens has been registered for warranty. I ask because I plan to later on send my lens for possible calibration/maintenance and don't really understand to either contact Sigma or Gentec for it. Thank you!

Gentec is the entity that handles all Sigma-related issues in Canada, assuming you bought a 'Canadian' Sigma...

I understand that and I bought my sigmalux locally. I was just curious though when you register your lens for warranty through the Gentec website if you're suppose to receive a confirmation email saying that your lens has been registered.

I can't remember if I got one last time I registered one of my lenses or not.
If in doubt, send them an e-mail and get them to confirm the registration.
I've found they are usually pretty good as responding to e-mails.
