Here are a few shots from a wedding reception at the Courtyard Restaurant in Ottawa.

i had my assistant stand camera left with an off camera flash, which she aimed at all the, er, single ladies.

If you would like to see more from the day please see: Wedding at the Courtyard Restaurant (external link)

Looks good. I'd say open up the lens just a tad bit more so you don't have to rely on the flash as much. The reason being... we can't see the bride's facial expression when the flash is moved off. Otherwise, good stuff.

Thanks Trent !

I was at 1600 ISO ( I think !). Any more ambient would introduce movement blur. I actually like that the bride's face is darker in that shot--it helps push focus to the bouquet levitating high in the frame--that was the subject of that shot.

Gotcha. The DOF looks pretty large. Maybe keep ISO at 1600 but drop the lens to 2.8 or lower, if shooting with a prime. The DOF will help isolate what you want the user to focus on too.

Either way, solid job.
