Canon G6: Focus issuse?

Hello,

I'm having trouble capturing sharp images. Some are pretty good but, most of my images come out pretty soft.

Numers 1 & 2 are pretty good. Number 3 is just a mess.

Any suggestions?

This subject seems to come up every now and again, and is inherrent to all the G series. I've had the same thing happen on occasion with my G5. My theory is that since the shutter release is not as fast as a DSLR's from the moment the button is pushed, to the actual moment it takes the image, we tend to move the camera too soon after pushing the button. I use a follow through method with my G5 to help eliminate this problem, ie; I continue to hold the camera still for at least a 1 count after I've pushed the button. Once you get used to it, it's really no bother, and seems to work for me.

i agree with ballen photo. you could also use a tripod, and the remote control to elimate camera shake.

Looks like you're just too close. Were you in the macro mode on #3?

No, I wasn't in macro mode. I'll try that next time.
