Do you think that the hand ruins the shot? Any suggestions?

I wouldn't say the shot is ruined by the hand. But does the hand detract from the shot ? I'd say in this particular case, yes.

I agree with the above, the shot is not ruined but would have been a much better photo without it.

I'd say cutting the top of her head off ruined the shot actually.

Adding a hand to a closeup requires a lot of attention. Hands can end up looking awkward if the subject is not given direction. In this case, just a subtle adjustment to align the fingers, and perhaps cupping the hand a bit more, would have made it more graceful. And, limbs frequently look better if cut off at joints. In this case, at the wrist.

I would say, yes, it definitely does ruin the shot for me. she is a beautiful girl, but she has knobby knuckles and no amount of graceful stair stepping of the fingers can hide that fact. I wouldn't put her as a candidate for that type of shot for that reason. she is gorgeous though.

How about a little bit of blur on the hand.

Thanks for the advice folks! Looks like I am going to scrap this one. I have a few other takes without the hand which I will have to use.

I still don't get the hand on the face pose. I see them a lot, but why....
