Congratulations on going Gold! Do I need to refer to you as "The Golden One"! Ronald makes me do that!

Hey, I do not! Speaking of which, I think it should read something like "The Golden Child" or something of the such under my name. Maybe "Compulsive Poster" :p I've gotta be up there for the most posts in such a short time. I'm nearing 3,000 in like 4 or 5 months. That deserves a special name.

Uh oh! Go on? Just what were you thinking? Obviously something derrogatory, then?

Gold 'member' seems about right ... you'd never accept having the same as rest of the guys here.

No I have no view of you whatsoever, I am completely ambivalent. However you did feed a very inviting line….. it gave me a chuckle. I am sure it says far more about me than you.

Why do you say that, you dear sweet man? Do I not have "the same as the rest of the guys here"? I suppose it depends in which capacity you mean. Mind explaining? If that was meant the way I understood it, then it seems a tad uncalled for.

May I make a bid here for some reappraisal of the situation that seems to be brewing?

You know, friends, the only reason I deliberately teed myself up so obviously for someone like CDS to smack into the rough earlier in this thread was because I was, in my playful and elliptical way, trying to comment on the silliness of getting all excited about being given a special title for something as totally meaningless as the number of times one can hit the "submit" button on this forum. (Yes, I do understand that Steve had his tongue planted in his cheek when he started the thread; but I still don't understand why some of us feel the need to let everyone know how many posts we've racked up, when the numbers are clearly displayed every time we submit something. Just to rack up a few more posts, perhaps?)

Putting up with a little ribbing or a telling off now and then is surely part of this online adventure, and if we cannot handle that without getting bent out of shape then perhaps we should just decide not to participate. Why on earth are people allowing themselbes to become uptight, angry and defensive here over something that is of so little significance? Can we not all just try to maintain some kind of sanity and civility here, learn not to take ourselves so damn seriously, and keep our sights fixed on what we all have in common--our shared passion for photographic excellence?

respectfully,
Terry

Well, maybe I should, then. I suppose I should take negativity better. Here's overreacting for ya. At 3,000, I'm gone. :-)
