I took some visitors up to Newcastle (NSW Australia) and parts north. This is an ex-steel manufacturing town and has become very popular since the steelworks ceased production. It's still a deepwater port with big ships coming in and between 15-20 off the coast at any one time. Anyway a few shots from the day.......

Thanks Raj, here's two more from the day, a different area called Shoal Bay. The shot with my friends was very challenging as i didn't have my flash with me and as you can see there's a vast difference in skin color.
Roger.

The big skyline behind Newie Beach looks impressive too. Not really all hotels & condimi ahh umm condiminimums - the biggest in view is the hospital (or whats left of it).

Hey Roger - good shots there!

Did you do the Nobbys breakwater walk. I did last Saturday - big swell on too. Newie Beach was "closed". Hell, the even ocean baths had a swell!

Can't resist... this is the breakwater for newie harbour last Saturday - all is well -- people walking and talking -- [doorbell -ding DONG] "Hi there - I'm Mr Pacific!!"

Hi Carzee, no we didn't do the Nobby's walk as the w/e were there was when the police had the area closed down due to 'racial tensions'. That shot you just posted is great, the waves crashing down on the rocks is awesome...... also interesting that nobody is looking lol.

I was out Bathurst/Orange again today. Just got back and had a shower. It was hot and the van has no a/c. I'll put a pic in another thread.
