If you are a back button focus user on canon I recommend you test the half press shutter button to lock focus on the X-T1 if you haven't already. On my X-T1 the rear focus button hunts and the shutter button doesn't in most instances

I'm using half-press focus. Tried BBF on my 7D, but never clicked with it. What focus mode are you typically staying in? I've always kept my 7D on servo unless I'm doing stationary stuff w/ a tripod.

I came from a 5D2 and always had that on one shot AF. On the X-T1 I mainly use S on the front selector and S on the top selector and now use half shutter button for focus. This mimics what I was used to on the 5D2.

For moving subjects I believe its best to set it on C on the front and either CH or CL on the top selector. I haven't gave this much of a trial yet though as I don't normally use servo focus. I owned a 7D for a month while I went on Safari in Tanzania. I remember the focus being VERY quick compared to my 5D2. The X-T1 would not match that I don't think but is about the same as my 5D2 was.

I was a BBF on the 5D II, but with one shot AF, and usually center AF.

still haven't played much with the AF settings on the X-T1 as I'm still waiting for my lens to come back in stock. Thanks to focus peaking though, manual lenses are actually quite fun.

Any suggestions on sling straps? Love my Optech Utility Sling on my 7D, but it's a little bulky. Considering the Optech Mirrorless Sling.

I'm still using my OpTech sling from my 5D II with a custom slr c-loop...never thought about the smaller mirrorless strap.

Great...now here I go spending more money

Now why did you guys have to go and bring up that theres another forum that I need to join just for Fuji cameras? Between POTN, Reddit, and the usual social media its already really difficult to get work done...

Thanks! I was little worried about the Mini QD cords but seems fine from what I read. Any issues using just one lug w/ a 18-55 or 10-24 attached on a X-T1? I've found using both kinda cumbersome with sling straps. As for cinching, I'm fat so my straps cinch naturally :) Some good stuff on the forums over here, but the ad clutter and link insertion gets a little annoying. Realize they need to monetize it to stay up, but think they overdid it a little.

I don't see a single ad with AdBlock (Chrome extension). :)

Are there many ads over there? I'm running adblockplus and can only see one add below the OP on each page.

I get 3-4 a page and the autolinking in posts via dealtime for products. Swear I had a flash popup the other day. I dabble with internet marketing some so don't have any adblockers installed on this machine.

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Optech Mirrorless Sling, some extra mini QD's and a Tamrac Apache 2 shoulder bag. Like the build quality on my Lowepro bags better, but the Apache seems to be exactly what I was looking for from a functional perspective. Now I just need to lookup how to make one of those paracord wrist straps and think I'll be set!
