What do you all think about the 18-55 kit lens? Since I ordered the 56 I can't spring for the 23 or 35 right away.

Everyone raves about it.

It shouldn't even be considered a kit lens. It's very good: compact, sharp, great contrast, well built, and very good IS.

this. small, light and amazing. best kit lens IMO, way better than the 24-105.

So, I figured out the problem and it was me hehe. The images should be large enough to see the person in blue to notice the difference. I didn't realize but I was exporting in lightroon I had the W at 1920 and the H at 1080 with a DPI of 72. As a result the images looked liked they were taken with a mobile phone. The bottom was exported at W 2048, 72DPI.

It's really a fantastic lens, definitely worth getting if you think a zoom in that range would be at all useful to you.
