Must get back to trying to get a few decent shots of birds in flight, something I find difficult, but I’ll need to find a long lens for the X camera as the longest I have here now is the 50-140! Should really buy that 150-600 I had to give back last year. Although I hear the Tamron 150-600 G2 is good on the GFX100s as well as smaller cameras. Mmmmmmm what to do…

Updating a Raspberry Pi that runs some of the things in the studio, SSH via my iPadPro is great and another think I can cross off the list of reason I need a laptop. The main one was Capture One tethering and that’s pretty good now that we can save images to the camera as well as the iPad, my right angle USBc Tethertools cable finally arrived last week. I had been using the one Apple included in the box with the iPad but the speed is only 480mbp and that feels a little laggy with the GFX. Glad to be back at 5Gb speeds at last, didn’t fully realist that USBc doesn’t mean a fast connection at all.

A day of having coffee with work.

I have used the Canon 100-400 Mk2 on my GFX100S for BIF. Best for slow moving large birds, like the Snow Geese, but the pictures you do get have unmatched color depth. This is about 1/4 of the full GFX100S frame.

Got a heads-up that there was going to be one of the last Lynx 7A's flying into Yeovilton Air Fleet Museum, so spent the day hanging around the airfiled.

Aircraft Subject Detect has a few quirks, but for 99.99% of the time it works a treat! :D

Those are nice, some of the best rotor blur shots I have seen.

Thanks, hand holding 1/80 at equivilent of 900mm isn't the easiest, especially when it's blowing a gale! :)

What started out as a search for low flying Wildcats, finished in photographing sheep being rounded up (they'd escaped from 1 field and needed guiding back) and having a chat about the history of Dorset :)

My friend's puppy from the beginning of last fall... she's so cute you'd almost forgive her for all the terrible things she did inside my Jeep moments before I took the shots

Still struggling with the Fuji X-series bodies and the Nikkor 500mm PF. Used the X-H2 and 500mm PF combo at Middle Creek while watching the Snow Geese. For these slow moving large birds subject recognition worked well, very few OOF images.

Three coming in for touch down...

Thanks. We haven't had much of a winter; the Snow Geese have already left for the far north, for the most part.
