well, if you're not going for the size, I'de like to see how the xe-1 + 18-55 compares to the 6D + 24-105.

There are quite a few of us who have a similar combination, I don't have any side by side comparisons with my X-E2 and 6D of the same scene but I would probably do one this weekend if someone doesn't beat me to it.

As far as ergonomics are concerned, I feel like my 6D is a little bit faster to operate than my Fuji. Thats not to say that the Fuji is slow, it just takes a little bit more thought for me than the canon system where I can make pretty much any adjustment I like with my eyes closed. For example on the fuji you make full stop shutter speed adjustments on the top dial and then make 1/3 stop adjustments on the back wheel, on the canon its just one dial. I also find that there is a bit more menu diving going on when I shoot the Fuji Vs the Canon.

With all of that said does that make the Fuji any less enjoyable? Heck no! Its just as much fun as my 6D while being more portable, better looking, and less intimidating than the DSLR. Different tools for different uses.

I know your question was in regards to image quality, and like I said if no one beats me to it I'll do a side by side scene comparison this weekend(also I find it very sad that I seriously dont think I'll have time to shoot before then). I also know you were referencing the X-E1 not the X-E2, but they are said to be fairly even on the IQ front.

As far as IQ is concerned the Fuji is better imo. I sold my 24-105L to fund my X-E1 kit and don't regret it for a minute, the 18-55mm is a better lens imo.

I'm probably the worst guy to make accurate judgments in that regard. I don't really pixel-peep anymore, and never print out my pictures. Pictures from my RX-100, SL1 with 18-55, and 6D with 24-105 all look almost same to me IQ wise in good-light. I just don't have the stringent IQ demands that pro photogs do.

For me personally, this hobby has gone from a general "I want better IQ in my pictures" to specificity/creativity/fun. Specificity in terms of say, really low light, when I need my 6D. Creativity for say really shallow DOF that only a fast prime could produce. And fun as in, well, my X100s. :D Fuji seems to offer all 3 in spades, which is why I'm drawn to the cameras for now.

Still getting use to my xt1. Right now I only have the kit lens but no complaints about the quality! Trying to purchase another lens before my trip to Vegas in roughly 3 weeks, debating between the 56 or 10-24. I know the ultra wide would be good, but I think overall after the trip, I'd use the 56mm more. Damn decisions.

I thought I was done with camera bodies and lens purchases for awhile. Still debating about selling all my canon gear. I don't know if I can part with the 7d and 70-200 yet though. Maybe once that 50-140 2.8 comes out.

^My $0.02, get a manual focus 55mm f/1.2 or f/1.4 of your choice (many can be had as low as $40) and the 10-24mm XF and have your cake and eat it too ;)

Met some really cool people on our trip to Eleuthera.

This guy was our neighbor that we befriended.

Hard one as both very different. The 56mm is awesome and if you are used to shooting at 85mm then its a no brainer. However, if you want ultra wide then 10-24 may be a better option for you and although its slower at f/4 its got IOS.

I havent clicked with my 10-24 yet which is a bit annoying. Even considering selling it and getting the 14 or selling it when the 16/1.4 comes out (if it does) but will keep it a bit longer to see how it goes. I think part of the issue is I havent had very good conditions for landscapes since buying it. Im sure as soon as I get a good shot from it ill love it more

So far, once every two years. The first interchangeable X camera started shipping two years ago...

They've never done it prior to the sale that just ended....they have only done bundle deals with purchase of a body, which they've done a couple of times in the past year.

I gave up on my back-ordered 35mm. I instead opted for the 23mm. I'll wait on 35mm until there's a more readily available supply lol.

B&H was nice enough to give me courtesy free overnight shipping for my "troubles"
