Have you noticed that, if you map the face detection to a function button it acts as an on/off switch, no need to move a dial after you push the F button?

I did not... I'll have to try that again. I did map it to a button initially, but it didn't seem to turn on when I pushed it.

After a good day with my X-T1 and X-E2 shooting for an international corporate client's brochure, I load up the images from the cards and my computer goes bad. Only works as a mirror now. Apple suggest a graphics card failure & my deadline for delivery is Tuesday - AAAAAAAAAA. I'm popping down to the nearest apple shop that hires in Monday I guess. Kim sad now

Man, I'm in love with firmware V4.0... I think I'm going to invest more into my Fuji system now... Fuji just rocks, period.

Great action shots, especially on (above) the beam.

Small size came in handy last weekend, X-Pro and 27mm fit inside my jacket pocket for a gig. I wasn't there to shoot it so these are just crowd shots from the back.

I own both systems; the Sony has the edge in image quality, but the difference is only slight at low ISO. I enjoy using my Fuji more. I just ordered the Zeiss 55mm for my Sony to hopefully coax me into liking it more...

Unless you do a lot of shooting above ISO3200 (which the a7ii isn't really any good at either, actually) than I would recommend the Fuji system over the Sony for now. They have more lenses at lower prices (and they're all excellent) and the bodies are all fantastic.

You've mentioned possibly going full-time to Fuji, but I saw that A7s shot in another thread where you posted a pic that was ISO 60000 or so I think. At first I thought you made a typo and meant 6400. Honestly I don't know how you could give up that capability, it's just astounding.

Are you leaning towards just working with both systems?

That's the main reason I can't give up the system, there's also just something special about it for portraits.

Right now I'm just going to try running both systems. I really wish Sony would make an FE camera with a similar body to the X-E2 though with a corner EVF and classic dials, but I'm not holding my breath.

What are everyone's thoughts on recommending Fuji to "newer" photographers that may be looking to step up from smartphones and such? I didn't recommend Fuji before because I felt like the manual dials and such might be a turn off, but I have been recommending some of the newer "consumer friendly" models like the X-T10 that also have a full auto mode. Most such folks I know don't and aren't interested in post-processing, so that's why I highly recommend Fuji, because of the great JPEGs.

I still think such photographers would be better off with an advanced compact like RX-100 or LX100, but those that insist on interchangeable lenses, my default advice lately has gone from Canikon DSLR or Sony mirrorless to Fuji.

Eye detection makes focusing easier, trying out a new diy backdrop, a roller blind from ikea. YN603 for triggering works the AF with a half push.
