Showing this reverse lens for macro thing to a friend during the week, he was shocked at how good it looked. Used the 18/2 as the metal hood 'mounts' well to the body of the Fuji.

WOO! Just got my X-E2... waiting for the battery to charge so I can update the firmware  I missed the heck out of my X-E1, I never should have sold it.

That's exactly how I ended up with an X-E2

The X-E2 really is a much better camera though.

I sold my XE-2. I owned it for a little over a year. I took it to NY, the beach, lots of different places. No matter how hard I tried, I just could not ever make it "express my vision." I found the controls awkward and it never became intuitive. I literally wore the manual to shreds and then downloaded it onto my iPad and consulted it constantly. It did take needle sharp images but I would need 5 minutes of fiddling to get the shot.

Finally I threw in the towel, swallowed my pride and sold it. I love Fuji products but in 30+ years of photography, I've never owned a camera that felt so awkward to use.

Those of you who mastered it, I envy you. You take awesome pics!:-)

That's so bizarre to me... I have the exact opposite experience when using my X-E2. It's the most natural and easy to use camera I've ever had... so much so that if it weren't for the high ISO advantage of my a7S I would happily use it as my main and only system.

My experience with the X-E1 was awkward at first, but after I learned to reassign functions to the controls it became a joy to use. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you.

I don't have any experience with the X-E1 or XE-2, but I love the XT-1. I came from a Canon 5D II, and I love being able to make any necessary adjustments just by looking down at the top of the camera, and not having to stare at the LCD screen and menus.

I generally use the X-E2 in aperture priority, auto iso[200-6400] and auto shutter [min 1/125], just moving the comp dial as needed. Once you link the AF and AE points the results are spot on. Firmware 4 finally keeps the min shutter setting as you set it, so no more dropping below your minimum just to correctly expose the shot [to the camera anyway]. Now I use the rear dial to adjust this shutter, if I set 1/125 I have between 1/80 & 1/160 if I need it. This I find a fast was of getting the shot in the field.

Back a few pages for an X-Pro2 post

Two Hot Shoes wrote in post #17896811 (external link)
Had the new X-Pro2 for a little bit today, didn't have time to do anything good but here is 12800ISO SOOC that I can share. The camera is really very fast even with the XF 35 F/1.4 on it.
