Shot an event for a client today in a very dark room as they were having a speaking guest presentation about mental health in the workplace. Not allowed to use flash in the room so had to run ISO 10,000 on the X-PRO2 & shocked just how clean raf's are. Add that to how sharp the lenses can be and some very useable files. Still amazed by how good these little cameras are.

Swapping between the X-T1 and X-PRO2, the EVF is a different story. I forget just how bright and big it is on the X-T1 is. So my takeaway from the day is I want an X-T2 :)

I was so set to wait for the X-T2 before buying my X-Pro2, the hybrid viewfinder didn't interest me at all... then I went and tried the X-Pro2 in a store and thought it was way cooler than I expected, it was enough to convince me to buy one, though I was still thinking I'd probably eventually sell it to upgrade to the X-T2 when the prices came down. But now, I find myself using the ERF almost exclusively... I love it so much that I traded my X-E2 in large part so that my everyday carry camera would also have a hybrid viewfinder :)

It's weird because most of the reviews I've read or seen for the hybrid viewfinder cameras talk about it like it's a gimmick that most people will ignore... but I love that feature, it's what makes me enjoy the camera more than any other cameras I've used.

I've never really paid much attention to the EVF on my XT-1, and never really compared it with the X-Pro 2's EVF. I use them interchangeably, but I guess too lazy to really look and see the differences between them. usually on the X-Pro 2 I'm using the OVF with the little EVF window in the corner. :D

Same, though I don't have an X-T1 (and never have).

The last shot I took with my X-E2 and XF 27mm before trading both for my X100T

Thanks Dave and osa.

I will tell you what is cool with I presume all mirrorless and not just Fuji, playing with the exposure and viewing your "Finished" photo real time on LCD. On that note, I prefer shooting Av mode, and fujis auto exposure and wb for that matter are just better than I have seen with canon. Like if you take a night shot, it literally exposes to how you see it most of time.

This I believe was set on 0 fore exposure comp for example. This place drives me nuts. It is 5 min from my work, has a bright orange fence, blue and green lights, crazy colorful graffiti big covered symmetrical walks, and some lawn sculptures and I can not figure out how to freaking capture it. It is too spansive over not enough real estate, but still I just can't get good shots of it and it kills me.

Nick3434,

Cool shot.

I'll say using fuji messes me up sometimes because due to wysiwyg mirrorless exposure in the lcd/viewfinder. Mirrorless can slowly kill your instincts of proper exposure when/if you pickup a dslr.

So far though my X-t10 and X-E2 have the worst auto white balance I've used in a camera while shooting remote flash. From ice cold to overly warm kelvin.... AWB was a nightmare in post processing. In this case my Canon's have been excellent for landing appropriate AWB. My 80D/10-22 lens combo w/ cactus v6mk2 trigger and 600ex-rt (flash sometimes removed) on board is acceptably balanced but noticeably lighter than my 5d3/16-35mm combo.

In most cases fuji's awb is quite good. Even in the early days when Xpro 1 came out with earlier versions of firmware the AWD was decent.

I can totally see that. I had a chance to get in the same house I took some shots of before the 14 with the 14 today and exposure compensation in real time with windows and such and in a hurry is pretty damn cool.

I need to edit and see, and look back at what 18 got me in same house, but I think my conclusion is that 14 is going to just cut it for interiors. I don't mean that in a settling way, but in a very critical of the FOV being what seems to be just enough to I believe not pose many problems. The distortion and sharpness and IQ are also very welcome in it. I am finding this to be an I retesting lens. Seems no mans landish but I like FL a lot.

I thought it was just me! My X100T and X-e2 are horrible when it comes to WB and using external flash. It has been driving me crazy! My 5D and 5D mk II where much better in this regard.

So I was reviewing some small apertures shots and my sensor is littered with spots. Like I mean it is bad.

Here is a sample I uploaded to show. It was edited to help make them standout as much as possible. On computer it looks likke the whole screen needs to be windexed....there are a ton. I haven't cleaned my 6d sensor every and I am pretty cavalier about changing lenses, but has a mirror to protect. Is this part of deal with mirrorless?

So there are about 50+ of varying sizes and densities, should I take this someplace? I feel like I should do it myself and learn how? Anyone here ever clean a Fuji sensor or sensor in General? Doesn't seem like a big deal.

I've cleaned the X-E2 and my a7S sensor a few times, it's silly easy.

You can buy swabs on Amazon for $20 that come built for the exact size of your sensor, comes with a little vial of cleaning solution too. You put one drop on the swab and wipe it across one direction, then back the other... done.

I feel like I'm in the minority of people who actually observe less dust on my MILC bodies than I did on my DSLR's. I saw spots all the time on my 6D and T2i, I've only seen them on a couple of occasions with my Fuji's or Sony bodies, but thanks to the lack of a mirror cleaning them is super simple.

Yeah, I have no issues cleaning it, just wanted to see what products work best and gain some confidence knowing many have already...

Does that seem like a crazy amount or not really? I have ND filters for canon lenses so really, I can't tell you last time I shot at 22, but I am pretty sure it is not much more than Some hot pixels and something here or there. This looks like a ton....

I mean, I would definitely clean it, but it could also be the rear element of the lens, that would be the first thing I'd check. It does look like a lot to me.

If they are in your image there are too many of them. Try another lens and see if they are still there. The sensor is exposed when you pop the lens off a mirrorless camera as the shutter is open, a DSLR has the shutter closed. That might make your sensor more prone to getting dirt in there.

Before you clean make sure that you turn the camera upside down and use a blower a few times to remove any big bits. Don't want to have those scraped across your sensor. If you shine a bright light into the camera you should be able to see and bits & the same light through a lens will give you a shock.

If been through this with one of my 5D3, spots on all the images so Canon replaced the camera for me in the end as a sensor clean did nothing to help.

I tested last night with 23 and my indoors crude tests showed a couple of the same spots but not as many as the 14 did. I think because the 14 will go or 22 and the 23 only to 16. The shape was different on the 23 than 16 but same locations and my test was literally just holding paper in front of it so....just sorta bummed on this. I was hoping it wasn't my new 14.

Thx ️️hot shoes. Looked at sensor in bright light and yup, she is spotty. I am going to order some stuff (I don't even have a blower) but I went over my F10 indoor stuff with the 14 last night and that was clean, so it looks like I am fine for normal stuff and it only comes up stopped all the way against sky. It didn't come out in my bridge pics really except the dark shadow one with sky in back, so it isn't like I would even know if not for landscape.

No problem! Tripods for me are worth the added weight. I use a MeFoto Backpacker, so it's pretty compact and lightweight anyway. If I carry all my kit it's the tripod, X100T and the wide converter lens... makes long hikes a lot easier!

I use a Joby GorillaPod for backpacking and camping. Perhaps not as versatile as the MeFoto, but it offers simplicity. It's convenient in a city setting since you don't need to fumble around with setup.
