Now I need a new “go to” light modifier, I have been using a beauty dish and a reflective Godox umbrella/softbox but now I am eyeing the ParaPop softbox.

Right now I'm loving my Elinchrom 49' deep silver umbrella with the sock, and also without. It's a good versatile light setup and good even light, AKA no hotspot. Hardish with the silver and soft with the sock over it. Elinchrom modifiers are super.

Also liking the little collapsable 23' octabox as it has a reflector plate that you can attach to block the centre spot, like a beauty dish, as well as a sock and grid. I guess you can never have enough.

I randomly picked up a streaklight from that great sale Adorama had, randomly looking at used prices on a second one, randomly considering possibilities with one or two AD200/evolv, and randomly seeking some new portrait subjects. This word random, I don't think it means what I thought it meant. ;-)a

Congrats on the Xplor. That parapop looks interesting.

Good news is my evolv will be going up for sale, the 600 is plenty light for me. Gear comes in and gear goes out at least.

I was photographing costumes at a Halloween event with an Elinchrom Ranger RX (yes, the big heavy one) on my shoulder, holding a deep octa 70cm modified head on a stand up with one arm and the Fuji Xpro2 in the other hand.

The 18mm/2 was a great addition: wide enough to get small groups and full length costumes at close quarters, fast enough to focus in poor light and light enough to make it easy.

Here is an example with the spice girls:

C&C always welcomed...
On my images, of course, and on my words as well--as long as it's constructive :).

The Joel grimes westcott version has caught my eye too its a little pricey but westcott's quality is great and I can fold it up for a location shoot. Will probably end up with the Parapop but its all ways fun to look.

I have a 48" Phottix Solace Gridded Octabox. Nice modifier, but 8 rods you have to insert into the ring, and bend into shape is time consuming.

I have a Streaklight/Trigger issue with my X-E2. I was testing my new Streaklight (non-R2) last night, triggering it with the XT32-C transmitter and the R2 bridge receiver for non-R2 flashes. The transmitter and receiver are talking because I can fire off test pops, but there's no communication between camera and transmitter. The transmitter appears fully seated and tightened. I ruled out camera setting issues, because using the Waver Commander transceiver set I can fire the Streaklight via camera.

I posted this question in the flash forum last night around 2 a.m. I probably should have begun here, but my judgment was off at that hour. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I haven't shot any flash for about the last year and half due to life transitions. Stupid human error is the likely culprit.

We ran into issues trying to fire an AD200 via both the X-1Tc and XT32c neither would work when attached to the X-T2. Pressing the test button fired the flash. The X1Tf works like a charm...

So, happy to have a committed design for Fuji from Godox at last. It just works as it should now. Sorry I can't be of any help
