I'm one of the complainers about Fuji sometimes and I get ribbed for being vocal about the performance.

Here's a good example that I'm not always complaining :)

Woke up early to go to a local gathering "Carbs and Coffee"

I brought my kacey adapter and a long paint pole and did my signature shots and then some other photography.

I'm super pleased with my fuji when it's in my toolkit. I just pick and choose my tools on an outing.

I decided to show some love to my Canon 5dmk3 as well as lugging my X-t2. The IQ is superb on both bodies and I will not complain for this type of documentation that I do.

I used the Cascable app to remote trigger the X-t2 that was on my paint pole. It was incredible unreliable as my fuji would shut down the wifi and I'd need to reinitialize the connection. However I limped through.

I still feel an odd comfort zone shooting with my 5dmk3 with 16-35. However I did do many photos with my fuji combo.

ooh thanks for the reminder. I think it was not working well when I first tried it.

What do you think was causing the disconnect? How far away was the camera and how long between shots (did the camera sleep)?

Kim,

Honestly I think it might be going to sleep. I used it before with much longer sessions but today it was substantially shorter before it killed the connection.

Late last night I saw that my friends "Carbs and Coffee" was having a gathering. The weather was ideal and I woke up 5:18Am for some reason and decided to take my paint pole.I think I'm only extending the pole 7+ feet.

I will try out the fuji app again one of these days. The camera was disconnecting a good 5x and it was enough to document what I wanted to do.

The photos came out exactly they way I wanted them to turn out. Super happy with the files. I felt sorry for my 5dmk3 as I've neglected it for some time.

I'll be experimenting some more with the remote shutter later :)

Does it ever "timeout" or make you reinitialize the wifi connection?

I wonder if the range of 10 feet is an issue. I will definitely give it a try over Cascable.

Thanks again for the suggestion to try the app again.....

The app works for me, but it's super slow for file transfers sometimes, seems totally random though as sometimes it works really fast.

The remote app has always worked well for me though.

first time at the zoo today using my X-T1 and the 55-200 and 35. I am pleased with the photos. Shooting at ISO 3200 needs pretty much no noise reduction and it holds better color at higher ISO then my 7DII does. I can notice getting into 3200ISO on the Canon it will start to have color shifting.
