I just got the Capture One Pro on the trial and my first go at it was frustrating compared to LR. Seems like setting up a file is an endless process, only a few shots on the right, not having the "Library" "Development" modules etc. Is anyone else having difficulty with it or is it just because I am a technology challenged geezer?

A couple of things - the capture one website (and their YouTube channel) has a LOT of tutorials that are broken into logical, bite sized pieces covering the interface and the workflow.
Second, unlike Lightroom, the capture one interface is completely customizable, and you can save your particular collection of "tools" (panels) as a workspace, which you can call up whenever you would like. So, you could have a workspace for culling, a workspace for global edits, a workspace for local editing with masks, a workspace for color grading, etc. so that not every single tool is exposed all of the time.
Take some time to work through the videos, the workflow is not that cumbersome, it is just different than LR.
