That’s the same way I feel about 135mm.

The GFX is also a crop but… The R is tiny for medium format, ok the lenses are a little large for travel except the 63 and maybe the 45. There is a tiny 50/3.5 due sometime soon, I’d say that would be great on the R.

Having said that it’s great that you tried and found out it’s not for you, hope the lure of 135mm finds the right place for you.

One thing I'll say is that Fuji is childs play for editing since colours is very good sooc.

I'm in a comfortable position now with my Sony A73 as far as Sony colour is concerned.

Last day I was using my aging XT2 and I enjoyed the easy post processing. Sony still takes some more time in editing. Goes to show there are pros/cons to everything.

I'll say the Sony FF with my Sigma 24mm ART (eventually going to buy the Gmaster 24mm) has a totally different look compared to the fuji equivalent 16mm f/1.4 on my xt2.

The new 3.01 firmware on your Sony camera is killer!! enjoy your gear!

Thanks, I already am.
I found it quite easy with almost no PP with the two Batis lenses :)

Well, in a sense, yes but I'm not willing to travel with a medium format camera, sorry.

If you are happy, I am happy for you :).

Someone wrote up a chart comparing a Sony system with lenses and a comparable GFX system. They listed costs and weights.

Surprisingly, their GFX configuration was lighter and even slightly cheaper. So it depends.

That also depends on form factor though. The 50r has a lousy grip. I would have much rather had the 50s but couldn't justify $1,500 for just ergonomics.

Basically, I would rather have a 2 pound camera with good ergonomics, like a sony, xt3 or xh1 rather than a 1.75 pound camera with crap ergos.

There are great Arca Swiss compatible L brackets with grips that work well. Peipro I got is fine. Small rig just released a better looking one with a wooden grip for $50.

Took a few shots at the end of the day, just after all fed and watered, with my X-PRO2 hadn't realised that it was on 1/8000 shutter. Must have knocked it or someone played with it while it was on a table on the set, oh well least the shots look good at 12800ISO...

Super excited that Fuji is announcing the GFX 100 release tonight. I'm guessing we will get details of the camera. And maybe some other announcements (Future Direction? lenses? Ship dates? Prices?).

I started a GFX 100 thread since I'm guessing folks will get annoyed if the few dozen or so of us who are medium Format wonks clog this thread.

The Announcement is at 2am New York time. The party starts now. Drop in any time. Bring your own snacks and speculations :).

I’ve been told that the hassy is a ‘real’ medium format camera ( in reference to the GFX being a Crop) of course the disbelief when I mention the H5D and H6D 50c both have the same sensor as the Fuji is unstoppable. Harsh comments all the same.

The GFX100 looks like a killer camera for anyone shooting portraits, weddings or anything in that vein, which is a huge chunk of the professional photography industry. The two GFX50 models gave the full frame tree a shake but this should really cause a major wobble in the market. Fuji have been ballsy in this venture into medium format but this camera could be where they see their real pay off, especially because they have a major leg up on the competition who have been busy clubbing each other with full frame.

I'm not the market for that camera. I'm not a working pro and I don't have the money for that kind of treat, but this camera could, and should, be revolutionary in the professional world - especially with what looks like an increasingly small, professional market for camera sales now that casual photography moves steadily towards mobile devices, I can't see why one wouldn't want 100mp medium format with IBIS and eye-AF with tracking.
