enjoy!

Back when I shot Canon, my absolute favorite lens was the 50L/1.2 prime. When I switched to Fuji, I got the 35/1.4, but I sold it and got the 23/1.4, and nowadays I actually prefer the slightly wider focal length. Maybe i shot 50mm too much. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My fastest prime us currently the 35 1.4

For portraits I find it a good general use focal length
But 35mm (ff equiv) had always been my favorite everything lens , or atleast everything I shoot ..

I've been considering the 23 1.4

I'm trying real hard not to buy any more lenses. I don't feel I need anything else, plus I prefer carrying my Ona Bowery around every day and NOT the larger Brixton lol.

Currently have the XH-1 and XT-3. usually the 23/1.4 is on the XT-3, and the 56/1.2 is on the XH-1. I can fit both in my Bowery no problem, and don't have to worry about changing lenses. Just pull out the other body.

I have the 50-140 that I use mainly during Spring and Soccer seasons. That's when I have to pull out the Brixton to hold that big ass (comparatively to my primes) lens.

I’ve a shoot tomorrow down the country so staying over night, managed to blag a family room so the wife and both kids are coming along. Now I’m packing and trying not to take too much as the others need room for a couple of bags so no backdrops and only one light stand and modifier, a few small lights and 55° & 120° reflectors. Plus the usual cameras and lenses, tripod, computer and drives etc…

Half of me is thinking I’ll just bring the X-PRO2 with the 35/1.4 and 18/2 with one speed light plus trigger and a small umbrella, not even an umbrella holder, just clamp them in my hand.

Although the camera and lenses are small all the other gear never shrinks. Least it’s only one 1514 for cameras and lenses I guess could be worse, could be shooting video

Take an old monopod, get a Manfrotto 186 3/8-Inch Female to 5/8-Inch Stud 50mm Long Adapter, and you've got a light pole you can attach a flash/strobe to.

my wife in this pic is holding one I made. if I'm not needing to get a lot of environment in the shot, I can usually hold it with my left hand, camera in the right.

Or employ one of your kids to hold it. :)

Sure, it's in this thread, albeit a bit back in history. Wow... almost 3 years ago.

Ha! taken with the 23/1.4 no less after mentioning earlier that I love using it to get a little bit of environment in a portrait.

I guess I could have just linked that post that has the same BTS pic.

Love a good BTS, handy to have a VAL about at times.

This is going too simple as it’s not quite stable enough but I recon a bit of tape or a couple of zip-ties would work. My idea of solo light work

I no longer have the AD360. I have 2 AD200s, and 1 AD600.

I like using the monopod as it can collapse for storage.

I have a little portable kit that takes up hardly any space at all.

Modified monopod,
AD200 x 2
33" Phottix double folding umbrella
32" softbox w/ grid
7.5' nano light stand
twin head adapter for ad200

all fit in a relatively small 27" (70cm) light stand bag.

As long as I know what I'm going to shoot, it beats trying to lug around a 10-13' light stand, 48" octa, AD600, etc.

This interview is filled with interesting insights on Fuji's strategy, on the digital photo marketplace, on what Fuji is working on, on a bunch of specific questions relating to GFX line, XT line, XH line, lens development, etc.

Audio could be better.

I also need to put together some sort of light weight/ quick lighting setup.

dont regret the aputure led lights at all as I do use them for my photos but also for music video shoots,, and honestly the only paid work I'm doing at the moment is music video..( I mean aside from my real job),, all my photoshoots are tfp's or some that I have paid for.. and i'm ok with that just saying the lights have been irreplaceable for my videos especially since I shoot on m43 sensor

I will say that what I do miss some times are those super crisp f7.1 shot at base iso in the studio. .. cant do those with the led's

During the honey moon phase I had a very willing assistant .. but lately not so much. so lately i'm almost always alone

but really its for outdoor shoots not so much studio.. for indoors I have a pair of ad360's which work ok for indoors , but outdoors they are a pain in the rear.
with the separate battery pack and cables etc.

i've been doing mostly natural lighting outdoors , though when I originally started I was all about the HSS..

Thinking about selling my ad360's and getting a pair of the newer godox lights .. and a single 600

my stands are also all taking a dump on me , shims are falling out of them , knobs are loose etc.. they were all part of those cheap beginner kits , and i've been really using and abusing them.. so yeah need some quilaity light stands as well one of those handheld for when I do have an assistant.

also I need a smaller mofdifier (softbox type) , again for easy travel..

so yeah.. I'm not getting the gfx100:lol:

I did sell the xt2 and kit lens already.. fair deal too.
and I do have a 35L mkii and and 24-70 2.8 L mkii that im sure I can get at least 2 grand for after paypal fees and shipping /insurance costs(any ebay if I got that route)

I was considering even the GFX50r ..I see plenty on FM with an asking price of $3500 (body only)

but I don't know.. I think I need to uptdate my lighting equipment as well as get actual cases (pelican?) instead of just piling all my equipement on a cart mean for groceries:oops:

You are welcome.

also I am letting some stuff go at low prices:

XT2: $625
XT2 with grip (grip not pictured): $700
16-55: $850
50-150: $950
80 macro: $750
23 f2: $325

Would let the whole kit go cheap.
