I'm in love with my humble XC 50-230mm.
Taken from a boat while touring around my local bay for the first time after living here for 13 years.

A light stand should fit on any reasonable sized roller, something like the Thinktank Airport series ( I use one ) is good to pack some lighting and all those other little bits that you tend to need on location. I even have a 40 C-Stand on mine at times. Was going to buy a production manager 50 so I can put in a few C-Stands and lights etc but the weight once loaded is not fun. Better with a few bags and a cart.

Great on the paid shoots, no pressure though, right? Hope all works well on the day.

one of the women I 'm shooting is a birthday shoot.. she is either indian or Pakistani muslim and very conservative .. my assumption based on her IG .. no head or face veil .. but always covered from neck to ankles and even arms never show.. so , very conservative type.

when its my own work no matter what I start off with , things always end up dark, shadowy and with subdued colors.. but I know if I want paid work , I need to start showing bright , colorful and cheery

From two hrs ago. It was a windy day and sun was pretty bright even later in the evening. And with my 85L and using TechArt adapter I couldn't go past 1/200. So used garage at my work place.

85L at f1.4 so more like 66mm, f1.0.

Ultimately, you want to get you mind right, naturally.

With the GFX, one trick is to pull up the shadows slider in Capture One, but that is cheating .

Another is to trick yourself. Shoot raw (you must) but set the jpeg settings so they appear darker. Also set your display darker. Same trick can be done with tethering.

With darker skin, you especially want to avoid going dark because you will have less ability to change your mind in post.

Going darker in post is easy. Going lighter is more challenging.

I've got an AD600 and 2 AD200s, as well as the dual head adapter.

I have a small kit bag I can take with me pretty much anywhere.

28" light stand bag:
2x Nano light stands (lumopro and Phottix), 7.5 feet, folds up to 21"
ADB2 adapter
2x AD200 with fresnel and bare bulb heads
Phottix 33" double folding shoot-through umbrella
AD-S7 softbox (18") with grid and reflector plate
Westcott APollo 28" softbox - this one doesn't fit in the bag. It sticks out about 5-6 inches so I can't zip the bag completely closed. Debating on just picking up a Godox 32" umbrella octabox. I think that would fit fine in my bag.

When I need heavy "firepower", then I have the Xplor 600 in it's big ass case, extension head, etc. Also have a couple 10 ft Flashpoint auto stands (automatically expand and retract the legs when you pick them up, set them down), and a 13 ft light stand/boom.

Lately I've been getting great results with an Elinchrom 125cm (49") deep umbrella in silver & with the sock as optional for softening as needed. Does tend to soak up a good bit of power though so use the 600 mostly with that, although 1/4 on the 200 can be OK of single headshot. You can focus the output by moving the light up or down the shaft. Other than that I use a collapsable beauty dish, perfect for the 200 or the 600 if I have a group like this one as there is just enough to fill in a bit, they boys karate school had their European camp here recently. I think the 85Lmk2 is nice in the way it has a smoother softer transition in tones.

This is due to oldschool design with no modern nano coatings.

Old Harry Rocks. They are three chalk formations, including a stack and a stump, located at Handfast Point, on the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, southern England.
They mark the most easterly point of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

It was hard focussing. The eye AF didn't work only face AF and it was hard at equivalent f1.0 (almost). I did try later if smallest AF point on the eye at f1.2 but pose wan't as good.

Any suggestion? Doesn't need to be a PS machine, just basic tethering support. Lower cost preferable .
