Shooting some sports today & switching to CH on both the X-T3 and the X-PRO2 for a little bit only to find the X-PRO2 giving a higher FPS. Damned if I could remember to look at the menu to see if flicker reduction was on there and then, not really a bother at the time though. Got home and looked through the menu to see and sure enough Flickr Reduction was set to All Frames. Forgot I'd installed firmware that reset the settings and didn't think to look at that one setting. Note to self: back up settings before installing firmware.

One from the other day, apt writing on the bench perhaps.

Picked up a Godox V1 S for my Sony. Same flash is available for the Fuji lovers (V1F).

Must say the locking mechanism for the foot is great and it's simply an XPro trigger built in. Navigating remote flash is stupid proof.

Ridiculous battery life but similar juice flash output as the cheaper V860ii lithium pack. The way you can navigate the V1 interface is much more streamlined and less to fiddle with.

I'll pick up a couple of Ad200 pro one of these days. Nice to have 200Watt seconds on tap for small group shots and TTL shallow dof application.

The AD200 is probably the best light I have bought so far. Love even handholding that for shooting with and so good to have a bulb in a small flash. I’m working on making up an old style reflector that I can mount the head vertical into while the reflector pushes forward. Enjoy when you do get them

For the cost Godox makes some amazing lights and they are constantly improving the lineup which is great. They added firmware upgrades for Mac users which was long overdue.

The TT685 is quite nice for such an incredibly cheap flash. The V860ii is also quite nice. I will say the V1 flash navigation is so logical and streamlined for little button's pressed to achieve instant control of FEC or remote flash control. This is where run/gun I feel it's a great product.

In due time the V1"f" will be released. Once people buy one, they'll see that there was effort in creating this new flash. Also opportunistic for Godox to copy a similar Profoto A1 flash market. The V1 navigation alone is worth buying over the V860ii. However I'll be picking up a handful of V860ii simply due to the lithium battery packs for remote flash work. Those lithium batteries last forever!!

Waiting for the AD200Pro to arrive in my local camera shop. I'm still debating if the colour shift in the original is going to be that bad. We can save some $$ if we get the version 1.

From owning Elinchrom 400 and 600RX then PCB Einstein's. The lack of TTL and HSS in those units sure date stamps our growing needs for versatility. Godox even in Canadian prices is incredibly affordable. The beauty of Godox is that if it fails we can throw it in the garbage/recycle it and buy another new replacement....well maybe not the AD400 and AD600 :)

Eye opener was after buying the very affordable V1. Dangerous as my local shop has full line of Godox and more excuses for me to visit them to have coffee with them LOL!!

Anyone have experience with the 1.4x on the 50-140?

Reason I ask is that I rented one from Lensrentals for my Wyoming/Montana trip at the end of the month. We'll be doing Yellowstone and the rodeo in Red Lodge again and last year I rented the 100-400, which was great, but wanted to spend a little less this year. From all the reviews I've seen it seems that I lose a stop of light but that it suffers little, if any, loss of clarity. And f4 will be really nice.

I had the 1.4 and 2x for Canon and sold them both because they were really terrible on my 70-200 f4 so my experience with extenders is not that great. I'm crossing my fingers that the Fuji offering is better.

1.4 is good and yes one stop darker with little lost in IQ. The 2x I’m told is a little soft I’ve not had a play yet myself though.

I would love to see this in the AA battery operated TT685. The new V1 layout is one of the best no brainer configurations on an LCD.

I use the Cactus V6 and V6ii triggers with manual cactus flashes. They use a tactile physical knob for power adjustments in conjunction with an LCD. That is a fantastic trigger. Having GODOX V1 I know have a great round flash head as well as navigating remote flash brainlessly. Kudo's to Godox for such a simplistic layout.

Going through some old drives from about 12 years ago, found a backup of an old Nokia phone I had. I was shooting some backstage for Dior at their show in Paris in 2008, with the big camera, and snuck (ran) round the front to get a peek at the show just after the 1/2 way point. I know I lost all the images in a catastrophic drive failure in 2009. Ever since then I've been big into backups, nothing like learning the hard way :( Least I have a few phone shots still...

You can see the pit crammed full here, like this at every show

One of the models (Bruna IIRR) recognised me as I was standing at the end of the runway, gave me a wink :) we had a great night out on a bateau mouche on the Seine later that night, good times.

Crashplan is great. I've used it for the last 4 years or so. $10/month for my computer to get backed up to the cloud. I also have an older Lenovo ix4-300d NAS, and four 2TB drives in RAID 10, giving me 4TB of storage space.
