Got to the beach today, I needed that after the pressure of a tight deadline last week. The boy got into the sea and did his first sea swim and he very much enjoyed it.

off to the Caribbean for 5 days of rest, fun, photos and video..

we flew a standard jet blue plane to the main island of Puerto rico , and then from there we took a much smaller plane (Cessna ? I think) , a 6 seater (not including pilot) to a very small island not too far off , 20 minute plane ride, the island is called culebra (which translates to "snake") , and is very basic in many ways , I mean they have running water and all the basics , but it still is mostly undeveloped and so if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of city life , this is a great place.. love the laid back pace, nothing opens on time lol

any way that plane ride was a first for me , I mean in such a small plane .. the landing made me nervous, felt like the plane would free fall for a few feet at a time before control was regained.. its all a blur but I may have even called on the good lord for the first time in a long time  .. the little plane seemed to get tossed around like a toy..how ever the landing itself was surprisingly smooth.. good piloting I guess? .. or luck lol

either way , an experience I will remember

Congratulations Martin! I look forward to seeing more great moments in here and the family photojournalism thread with the newborn! :)

In other news, I finally bought a ring for Pam, she said yes on Wednesday :)

And since some members insist on knowing the details of every shot... 47" octobox to camera right using an interfit monolight, bare zoomed speedlight behind subjects to camera left (wanted to use a different setup, but time was fading and our living room is too small to fit light stands without moving a bunch of furniture), camera on a tripod and for the two shots I'm directly in I used the remote app and 56mm f1.2 ;) The first shot was with my Rokinon 21mm

Good music on the streets of Dublin, the GFX100s & GF45mm shining nicely but I think I burnt the edges a bit too much, will need to re do this one I think.

New photographer here. Went with the Fuji platform. X-T20. Just learning the ropes but thought I'd share one of my spiders.

I am new to EVERYTHING, including editing etc. Comments designed to point out areas of improvement are most welcome.

Got sent this by the production photographer today, who also shot Fuji :-D that's me on the stick with the X-T3 and 16/1.4. Really like the look and quality of the HLG 10bit DCI4K h.265 out of that camera. Mic is optional but as no real timecode sync solution thought it better to get some good sound in case it's needed.
Anyone else here use the Hybrid Log Gamma setting yet?

I recently left Micro 4/3 and Olympus (which I did enjoy for 5+ years) and came over to Fujifilm. Since doing so I don't think I have ever shot so much in manual and got the results that I was after.. My X100F and X-T30 with the 35mm f2, 18-55mm lenses just make it so easy. I really enjoying the shutter dials and aperture rings on these cameras...
