Following the advice you photographed would be a better course of action.

Drove to Livermore yesterday. By the time I reached this place, the sun was behind the clouds. I should have waited longer but family was in the van with me.

I need to go alone next time. I was hoping to find some mustards but none on this side.

Or, wash your hands, don't touch your face, keep your distance from everyone, and capture the scene. You don't have to literally quarantine yourself to prevent spreading this thing.

Actually, the advice mentioned in the photograph, and which is the one I referenced in my comment above, is "Stay Home, Save Lives". I'll leave it at that.

Doing the best I can. Unfortunately I own and operate a manufacturing business. I have to leave the house or I cannot pay the bills.
I'll be working through this. Tons of paperwork to do and light manufacturing, which I'm quite good at.
My employees are home so no running of the CNC machines and no production.
After next week I'm not sure how I'll be able to pay them. This is going to get rough.

So I appreciate your concern; rest assured I am doing everything I can to limit my exposure AND keep my company viable.
Taking photos keeps me sane.

We're all in this together so do everything you can to keep yourself safe. Life must go on though, and I must continue to provide for my family and my employees... so here I am at work.
I'd love to be sitting at home and hoping that our current Gov will take care of me but given the track record I'm not expecting much.

Luckily my wife and I both have jobs that are considered "essential" for the places we work for, but we've been working from home since last week. With an 8 and 5 year old running rampant around the house, it doesn't make it easy to get work done.

Being socially responsible and being isolated are different things. If you choose to understand how a virus list this one can be spread you can responsibly limit your exposure to it. Sure just staying inside for a month is one way but being mindful of your environment, limiting your travel, not touching people outside your household, keeping a good 6 feet away from others. If you have to touch something like when buying food then don't touch your face and wash your hands with soap or wear gloves and remove them safely once done and wash your hands afterwards. Choosing to lock yourself inside if fine but not everyone can do that. My parents have locked them in as they are quite old, we visit once a week in the car with the kids, socially responsible towards their needs while keeping the risk low for us.

Common sense always prevails.

I've been teleworking from home for 2 weeks now and having my 6 y/o grandson here makes it crazy...

Yes, my wife works from home and my 10yo son is driving her crazy as well. It's not easy.

On the positive side I've been doing a master inventory of my vinyl LP collection... probably spent 8 hours on it and I'm just now to 'G'.
Who would have known there are so many variations and repressings. Get to popular titles like the Beatles and it is an absolute nightmare.

Nice one. I had the same ideal but things here are so boring.

I'll respond to a couple points that have been made since my last post.

The fact of the matter is, photography is essential to all of us, since we're a community of photographers. We all want to practice our hobby (and others), but we usually practice it in a way that limits exposure and danger to ourselves and others (by, for example, not shooting from active train tracks or while driving a car). In this pandemic, it only goes to follow that starting new photo projects that would otherwise pointlessly take us outside is similarly not essential and is a danger to ourselves and our communities. Staying home is not only one measure but one of the principal measures that we have to implement against this disease. Not to say that you shouldn't be running one's business, since that could indeed be considered essential.

I'm afraid that, looking at the numbers, I can't level with the belief that a common sense would be sufficient to counter the threat we're facing, since if that were the case then we wouldn't be where we are now.
