if it were just my 10-24 I'd skip the xumes but the 18-55 and 55-200 both use the same ring size and they're skinny enough the 4x6 lees make them into T shapes in the bag, so for them I went xume. I also use both of those lenses a lot more in non landscaping settings (people shots) where I don't want the ring on there (especially with how wide it is). But yeah, it all depends on what lenses you're doing this with and how you use them.

I went with a hoya HMC since it's not too expensive in this size (67mm). Here's a shot of the two size options you have:
QUOTED IMAGE
IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/kXdToZ (external link) Fuji 56mm with Xume rings (external link) by benjacobsen (external link), on Flickr

I went with slightly larger which means you CAN'T use your hoods and everything is slightly more expensive, but I LOVE the slightly wider look (it's like a mini hood) -vs- the tapered look going smaller. The added step ring and xume both combine to make enough of a hood it's all I'll use anyway.

Also, get these:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com …_Screw_In_Metal_Lens.html (external link)
QUOTED IMAGE

xume is supposedly working on lens caps but until they do grab those and a spare filter ring for each lens, it's MUCH better than fujis caps, but the fujis won't work once you step the lens up/down anyway.

Thanks again Ben, Ill go the 67mm route and live without the hoods I think.

I need to stop reading your reviews!! I always end up buying stuff :)

So everywhere I see, the XT1 is backordered. How long did you all have to wait for it to ship?

I just placed my order for the XT-1 and 35mm f/1.4 but of course it's listed as backordered. First time I've ordered from BHPhoto since they started their rewards program. 4% on the body and lens, so that should translate to around $75 if I'm not mistaken. Can apply that towards the 56mm 1.2

It's also available in the Amazon marketplace for more than the $1299 it's selling for everywhere else. Plus Amazon charges tax. I'd rather wait for it come back in stock at BHPhoto. Save myself not only $95 in sales tax, but also get 4% back in rewards. Plus the points I get from putting it on my credit card will result in enough points for a Visa gift card :D

I tried my hand at doing a little bit of street photography while my wife and I visited Chicago this weekend. Turns out I suck at it haha.

let's talk flashes guys? What's anyone using? Any good way to get OCF and HSS at the same time? I really want that new Nissin i40 but it's not out in fuji flavor yet. It's also $280... I'm looking at some of the yunyoa (sp?) options. The 560II is great for OCF but it's not HSS. There's a 500 and 568 that are HSS but I think they need a receiver to do OCF? It's hard to keep them all straight. TTL is NOT a priority for me.

I wrote this up earlier today with a ton of options I've found if it helps any of you: http://newschoolofphotography.com/showthread.php?t=41443 (external link)

No HSS, HyperSync, etc. available at this time. The 568 is capable of HSS...with Canon cameras. No luck with Fuji, sorry. Not even with the YN-622c.

There's really nothing better than the CheetahStand/Godox v850 (also sold as Neewer TT850). I would suggest buying from Ed at Cheetah as his customer service is second to none and he offers in house warranty and repairs. Won't get that from Godox or Neewer. But if price is an issue, Neewer is the cheapest way. $95/flash and $24/trigger set from US based eBay sellers. So for $120 you get a very powerful flash system. The recycle times with the lithium ion battery are almost non existent compared to any other hot shoe flash using AA batteries. And the remote power adjustment via the transmitter means my lazy butt doesn't have to walk over to the flash, lower the light stand, adjust power, raise the stand, walk back repeat. Do it all from the trigger.

All 3 brands areth ex exact same product. I would skip Godox as there is no incentive for it. Newer is the cheapest, but Cheetah offers the better customer service and warranty.
