I still feel bad for letting my 400mm f5.6 go. It is one sweet lens. Not sure why Fuji doesn't make one.

It is a treasure lens to me.
Funny how I'll grab the XT30+400/5.6 over the XT4+100400. Just a weight thing I know.
Now I might soon, depending on how fast Fringer can get the Nikon adapter out, be regretting selling the 500PF but I kept the 300PF because it
works OK enough via Comlite on my Sony. I bet it will work way way better via the Fringer on the Fuji.

The sort of bird portrait that I always strive to achieve, yet rarely ever succeed. Great capture, Julie!

I photograph birds, or at least I try to, and most days it just makes me want to give up, so when I turn my focus to my other photography pursuit, my family, you think it'd be a reprieve from the utter frustration that is birding. Nope. My 2yr old daughter is just as difficult as the birds, she absolutely loathes having a camera pointed in her direction, and makes every effort to obfuscate my shots. It's only when I get clever and time it when she's not expecting, that I can get a genuine smile or gesture. I suppose it makes the good shots I do get even more special, but there's days where I just want her to throw me a bone and let me get an easy shot.

Despite all that, I am having an absolute blast with the film sims. This first shot is Classic Neg:

It's so nice to see kids looking at print and not a small screen.

 this a hundred times over. Little girl gets zero screen time, so we're always reading with her. Right now, she loves sharks and Berenstain Bears. It's sort of creepy that the employees of the big Silicon Valley tech giants don't let their kids have the very devices that they engineer, and I like a well rounded person who can actually engage in a real conversation... parenting goals

It's been a while since I've been on here... just straight up haven't had the time. Was fun catching up on the past 20 or so pages

Well, since I've been gone I've moved into the mountains and finally (after 2 cancellations due to COVID) said my vows to Pam and God above. Of course I couldn't help but take a few pictures at my own wedding

We cut our guest list from our original 80 or so to under a dozen and we moved it from the Shenandoah National Park to our new home town... but it was honestly exactly like what we originally pictured. Simple, just our families (most of them, my dad and brother couldn't make it, nor could her brother) and some close friends... it was perfect. I was worried I'd be so hot wearing a 3 piece suit in July in GA... but it barely got over 70 degrees.

Anyway, glad to be back :)

Dude congrats!

I haven’t had the time to share images or read the 200+ post I missed.

Seems like we have another Canadian that wants sharp images ߘ

Crystal clear shot, Robert, looks awesome!

Are you shooting in RAW, or do you trust your Fuji w/ jpgs? :)

Ha Ha....I know who this is addressing :p

Seems like we all have different needs and requirements EH!!! :p .........

My ancient 5dmk4 and pair of Sony A73 certainly does well for low available light shooting. I will acquire a Canon R5 and Sony A74 in the future for my Canon/Sony kit ..... :) Canon R5 seems to be a big jump in clean, "sharp" images compared to my 5dmk4. Possibly get a Canon R6 as well for lower 20MP requirements.

I'd still love to see a smaller form factor GFX100 Mini....minus the additional grip, bare metal bottom. That is something I'd love to see and own one day. Even a revised 50MP Fuji large format sensor body with updated electronics of the GFX100 would be a killer body. My observation of the large format Sony manufactured "Fuji" sensor still stuns me in drool factor images. Fuji large format is my only consideration in the Fuji world right now.

I still admire the Fuji colours and look. I also note the amazing Fuji AWB capabilities. Sharpness was not really a concern or issue with Fuji. There is simply better alternatives in wanting "sharp images" from ideal to very low light situations while obtaining higher shutter speeds (Not static subjects with extremely slow shutters speeds). Hence, my current gear ownership and my consideration of fuji large format "only" for the Fuji world.

I really do miss my Fuji 16mm f/1.4 and 56 f/1.2.
