Glad I held off on the 10-24..

Looking forward to the release of that mk2 with its weather sealing , they say improved Af.. hopefully that means for video as well

I'm looking forward to it too... because it will probably further lower the used prices on the old version

For video I too hope for good things, considering it's also a bit lighter than the original.

I sold mine for 30% less than retail last year, I am tempted to buy another one but it'll be just played on the list of things I 'need' though. Strongly thinking of replacing my 56/1.2 with the 50/1 though but none of that maters till the work reappears.

A cyclist in Dublin, I liked the shapes in this one.

I mean, it's hardly a revelation to say primes are sharper than zooms...

For what it is, the 18-55mm is hard to beat.

Not just the sharpness. There is 2 stops minimum difference between the primes and this zoom. That means needing much higher ISOs where it can get useless indoors depending on how you shoot.

Sony A7rIV, , Tamron 28-200mm, Sigma 40mm f1.4 Art FE, Sony 85mm f1.8 FE, Sigma 105mm f1.4 Art FE

Yes, but again, you're just further describing the gap between primes and zooms. The 18-55 is by no means the greatest lens ever, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better standard zoom lens for under $300.

As I said, I've never regretted having mine in the bag, or for that matter, mounted to the camera :)

Well I broke down and just ordered an X-T3 and 35mm f2. I can't believe the features to cost ratio on this camera, especially with the current sale. I get a student discount at Adorama which dropped another $100 off of it.

Not sure why I held off on ordering it for so long. It's the only camera I can afford that does everything I want and then some. I wanted 4K with a headphone jack, while still being able to use the camera for photos. The Panasonic m43 cameras have the 4K and headphone jack, but horrible AF and poor lowlight performance. The Canon 90D has 4K and a headphone jack, but from what I've read has some horrible problem with autofocus tracking through the viewfinder so that's out. The Sony a6600 has all of those, but crappy APS-C lens selection.

The Fujifilm X-T3 not only has all of it, but so much more. Dual card slots will be great if I ever shoot a wedding (no plans but you never know). The EVF is supposedly really nice which I'm looking forward to, and goodness 30fps photos is ridiculous. Really excited for it!

Tested out the X-T3 a bit today. I think I once again lucked out with the Amazon warehouse deal, so far as I can tell the camera is brand new. It looked like only the lens had been taken out of the box. I'll see about doing a shutter count check somehow later.

I'll probably have some time to edit the shots tomorrow, curious to see if there's any difference from the X-Trans ii. So far as AF... so far I'm pretty underwhelmed. It really doesn't seem any more fast or accurate than my X-H1, maybe I have something setup wrong. Either way, the update in a couple weeks should be nice.

Anyway... another from the X-H1 and 18-55mm
