Hoping next yr is better and everyone can get back to the normal times. At least a few things will be better for the US folks.:)

I wouldn't count on it.

"Back to normal," haha. That's funny. Go take a look at Klaus Schwab's latest book, or at least read the Amazon reviews. I can't say any more, because you get banned for pointing out the obvious around here. You could also click the link in my sig for a little dose of reality. Haha.

ANYHOW, I destroyed my X100F a couple weeks ago.....and X-700 and truck. My MD 50mm 1.2 is at the repair shop, and I am sincerely hoping they can fix it.
I don't really know what I am going to do going forward, but I really miss that X100. My 6D barely gets used, even though I can't get myself to get rid of it quite yet. The X100V looks like a camera I would love to have, but so does an old Leica Q. Then again I always intended to adapt my Minolta lenses to a mirrorless camera. I've got so many ideas in my head, but I don't know which direction to go. Sell everything and get an X-Pro3, 23mm, 90mm and adapter for old lenses? Keep the Canon and get another X100? Get a Q? I've even considered an EOS R with adapters, but that just seems annoying (the adapters). I played with an R a couple years ago and wasn't that impressed with the camera itself - images I'm sure are great. I don't like flippy screens, I will never use a touch screen or zoom lens. The only downside to the X100F that made me really hang on to the 6D was the build quality (occasionally something acted weird), the low light performance and the 135L I own. Aside from that I used it for everything.

This would be the easiest decision in the world if the X-Pro 3 had a full frame sensor. That is the camera I would own, hands down. I suppose time will tell - I have to find a replacement truck as well. That's going to be hard enough, lol.

Keep the 6D and 135L. Magic right there. My ONLY regret in leaving Canon.

I see a X-Pro3 in your future.

Love my X-Pro3 and small primes (16 2.8, 35 1.4, 50 f2) and X100V combo... My entire kit...

The Fuji 90mm looks great, but the 135L is just special. I use it very infrequently, but always happy with the results. Maybe I'll ditch the 6D and get another 5D 'classic?' Haha. I have lusted over the X-Pro 2 since I got the 'F,' and the Pro 3 makes me want one even more...! I don't get the beef with the screen - I always turn them off. The X100F didn't need a screen because I used the EVF and could sill 'chimp' without removing the camera from my face. It's SO much faster than looking at the back of the camera. I don't need so see a large image, I can zoom in on the EVF to check focus or highlight clipping. Only use the screen if the camera was on a tripod - a rare occurrence anyhow. The question is, can the 90mm hang with the 135L? I also have a Pentax 105mm 2.4 that would be really cool to adapt. That lens is incredible on the 6x7.

I think it was 2016 when my only gear was a 5D 'classic' and my 35mm f2 Image Stabilized. It was great and I learned a LOT that year. After lugging around a backpack full of crap to Europe in '18, I came home and bought the 'F.' Much smaller than the 6D/35 f2IS I was using. After that the Canon gear started to collect dust. I already know I can live with just a 35mm lens. Lately when I travel in my car I would have the F and 6D/135 handy so I would have both FLs at the ready. The highlights of the 'Pro 3' for me would be the ability to adapt and easily focus my Minolta lenses (35/1.8 and 50/1.2), it looks amazing and I really started to like shooting Jpegs. The downside is the crop - I want my damn 35mm to be 35mm! I've also heard that the 26mm sensor isn't great in the dark - which is where the 6D shines above (though it's a boring, sterile camera with colors that I don't care for).

Back to the Leica Q. Always been a dream camera because I think it would suit me quite well. I like that it doesn't have a billion megapixels like the Q2, and that it just looks like something I would never want to put down. The problem is that it's still > $2,000 and I have never once used a 28mm lens before. I see that I could rent one for a week for $200 (used to be much higher I think), so I might try that when I get some free time. I just took a job that is taking up a lot of my time lately. Perhaps after I will try that out.

I do miss my quirky Fuji gear though. About a year ago I owned the X100F, Instax Mini and a GA645i. Now I don't have any, and it is bothering me! Though I do have about 12 rolls of Pro 400H in the fridge, haha. Anyhow, that's where I'm at. Not an easy decision for me, especially as someone that doesn't like to sell gear. I buy stuff for the long-haul....generally. Thanks and cheers.

That Leica Q2 Mono is sweet.... The price not so much...

I had the 35 f2 IS on the Canon as well. I loved that lens too.

The Fuji 90 is clinically sharp, and I love it... but there is something special about the 135L that the 90 just cannot do.

This last one made me so confused when I looked at the shots on the computer because I didn't get around to the shots for months... I thought there was something wrong with the file

Drove to Sonoma, CA today. The vines have started dropping all leaves and getting ready for the winter ahead. I took along only the TS-E lenses for the GFX. 90mm TS-E Macro with some tilt.

Thanks, no not my kid just some random kids who were playing about on the stump of a recently (& unfortunately) cut tree.
The second one is a crop of the first.

It as really foggy here last night and the look from the street lights was epic, but I didn't feel like going out as I'm being a bit lazy with the photo stuff lately. But will get back to it by next week, probably. Yes getting up early to go shoot is something I've never been good at. Too many late nights playing music etc...

I have probably used that 35 f2 IS more than all the rest combined, haha. It's handy to have on a film camera, too.

I think I will just get an X100V though because the more I think about it, the more I remember that I don't like changing lenses. The small size and fixed lens are major selling points - I seriously can't stand lugging lenses around. If I take the Canon out I will put a lens on it and leave the rest at home. It's also quite a bit cheaper than the Pro3 and the extra stuff it would require. I also have a lens in the shop (MD 50mm 1.2), a camera in the shop (Mamiya 645 Pro), I need to replace my X-700, and then I need to send in my Pentax 6x7. I also need to buy a new truck and have like 50 rolls of film developed. I need a damn money tree...!

Dead.
