The picture was taken from Busteni, Romania.

It shows a huge cross made out of concrete and steel placed on the top of one of Romania's highest mountains (aprox. 2400 m). It was raised to honour the memory of the Romanian soldiers that died in the First World War. It is lit by night.

C&C please.

Interesting. I'd like to see a closer shot of any inscription that might be on it. Who were the Romanians fighting - the Italians?

That is a wonderful scene. Must be a thrill to be in position to shoot that.

Very nice shot, maybe crop a little of the sky closer to the top of cloud.

Thank you for your appreciation. It was not so much a question of being at "the right place at the right time".

It was more a spontaneous shot: just got out of the car and aimed at the mountain. I was lucky to have the cloud. I think it gives the photo the necessary punch.
