Well my Canon 60D is just over 30 days old and the LCD screen has completely stopped working. I've tried just about all I can think of. Now it's sitting with the batter out for while, to see if that fixes it.

Anyhow, I guess I'll have to send it off to canon for repair. I signed up for CPS Silver (I'll pass on the Gold for $100 for now as all my gear still is under warrenty anyhow).

Anyone ever have this problem before?

When you say: Stopped working, what exactly do you mean?

1.) Camera settings including menus can't be seen.

2.) Image review can't be seen.

3.) Live view image can't be seen.

4.) All of the above.

All of the above, completely and totally useless. Not even the sensor cleaning indicator comes on when you turn the camera on and off.

Does it still take pictures that can be seen after downloading?

Yup, it appears everything is functional except the LCD screen.

We as suspected Canon has requested that I send it to the repair center.

What is the expected turnaround for a CPS Silver member anyone know?

Many people even without CPS report short turn around times, often on the order of a week or less. But that is the Canon service center in New Jersey.

I have never seen service less than a week, closer to two weeks for me from door to door.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

I could send it to NJ or VA, would you recommend NJ over VA? VA is only a 1 business day shipment for me.

Looks like it would be an extra business day to NJ, which of course is one less day for them to work on it. I'd like to get it out today I'd love to have it back early next week but really need it to be back by the end of next week.

I have sent my 60D to the VA service center for the rubber grip issue. It was a 1 week turnaround.

I think I'll just stick with the VA center and keep my fingers crossed. I'll be pretty disapoitned if I don't have it for my trip on 1/21 though.
