You beat me to it. Out dated but for those that are using Elements that are looking for some added features this is great find.

It was working earlier. Not sure what is going on with it now.

I read elsewhere that it was opened up for those who previously owned the software and needed to reinstall, not as a free download for any and everyone. The link was disabled

I too read that this wasn't downloadable to everyone, but only to those who had purchased it before. I went and checked it out anyway and guess what, I was able to download it with no problem at all. For some this may not be a big deal if you have a current or semi-current version, but for me it's nice because I only have Photoshop 7 (plus Lightroom 3). So bumping up two versions for free isn't bad at all.

For us Mac users, this is only for PowerPC's.

Regardless of how you choose to interpret the way they have made it available, the official line is that they are not giving it away and that you require a valid licence to use it.

The Adobe forum thread, where an unofficial statement was made, has mysteriously disappeared. The blog post states:

"Effective December 13, Adobe disabled the activation server for CS2 products and Acrobat 7 because of a technical glitch. These products were released over 7 years ago and do not run on many modern operating systems. But to ensure that any customers activating those old versions can continue to use their software, we issued a serial number directly to those customers. While this might be interpreted as Adobe giving away software for free, we did it to help our customers."

This is either poorly written, or very carefully steers clear of stating that the software is not free. If you read it carefully, all it actually states is the reason the downloads have been made available. Given Adobe's silence on the matter elsewhere, and the fact that they have made it easier to obtain the files since all this started, I'm left wondering what's going on. It's almost as if Adobe are deliberately leaving it as ambiguous.

Yeah, well it's no more official than other pirated copies. No reason to bother downloading.

I'm not real familiar with Adobe products. Can someone tell me if CS2 includes ALL of the other downloads on the above linked page? IOW is "Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0" included if you just D/L CS2 or should I D/L both?
