hi
whats the generall process for testing the sharpness of my 24-70 (or any other zoom)? meaning, how would i set up the test - wide end or tele, wide open, and at what distance? i dont fully understand stuff like how a lens performs at MFD vs hyperfocal, etc....

also, if i need to MA, do i MA on the wide end, or tele?

thanks!

MFA on zooms is at best a compromise - at worst useless. Do the calibration on the focal length you use most often. General wisdom is to MFA at 50x the focal length, but you might find this doesn't suit how you shoot most often, so go with what you're comfortable with. Unless you take most of your shots at MFD, I wouldn't recommend MFAing at that distance though.
