Lens line-up

Hi guys,

I just purchased a 10-20 Sigma F/F-5.6 lens to add a UWA to my lens line-up with my 7D.
I also own a 15-85mm that I like a lot.

When I decided to buy the 15-85mm last year, I was pretty sure that it was the perfect choice for me, but now, with the addition of my UWA, would it make sense to replace my Canon 15-85 with a 24-105? I am interested in the 1 stop faster, constant F4 apperture, and the fact that I think it's a bit more weather-sealed. I also think that the lenses, using the same filter size, is a bonus...

I hike a lot, do most of my photography outside but I'm used to carry all my gear anyway. I like to shoot nature, landscapes, and a bit of street photography... Mostly anything in fact, except sports.

My question: Do you think that I'll be constantly changing my UWA and 24-105 since i've been using mostly my 15-85mm over the last years?

I might do the FF switch eventually, but that's not one of the reason that I consider the 24-105mm.

Thanks for your advice!

Sébastien

Bonjour Sebastien - I think you're better off sticking with the 15-85. The 24-105 will add to your cost and weight, but I doubt it'll give you much better pictures.

Merci Paul,

I'm concerned of having too much of focal lenght overlap between my 10-20 and my 15-85. That's why I was wondering if a "shift" of my walk-around lens would be benificial...

For the majority, an UWA is a specialty lens. I still see you getting tons of use out of the 15-85. Make what you will of that. ;)
