These are my first try at new lights. I borrowed some of the girls who babysit my daughter. coments are appritiated.

Yes! These girls are definitely photogenic.

As far as lighting, the exposure is good, but the background is too dark and blends into the girls on the wings.

What color background would you suggest using? I used just a plain black one in this shot.

I think that the spotlight is on these girl's faces and the baby so I like how the background fades off. That 2nd photo is just nearly perfect......all it needs is to be lightened a smidge, printed and framed.


Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.

A black background is fine as long as the subject(s) aren't wearing very dark colours (I made this mistake in my Christmas family portrait- it was a dark green background and I was wearing a dark shirt so it was hard to distinguish) https://photography-on-the.net …ighlight=christ​mas+family

In my opinion, these girls would like lovely in front of anything, but stay away from darks as they absorb a lot of light.
