Hi

First of all, Sorry if this is in the wrong section (Please move if necessary)

I am stuck for ideas on a photography assignment, Question as below -

Objective

To demonstrate personal qualities of enquiry and expression.

Task

This assignment requires you to create a set of photographs in response to one of the following:

Hands
Reflections
Found in the shed
Transformation
Circle
Recently Departed

Supply your tutor with a creative response to your chosen theme (between 4 - 8 images) and a short report which details any research you undertook, what equipment you used, how you planned and carried-out your assignment, and how successful you feel it has been.

Guidance

Apart from creativity and impact, use your prior knowledge of Light and Exposure control combined, to support the exploration of your subject or theme.

If necessary, use books &/or online resources to find inspiring images and credit these sources in your report.. Above all, explore your theme thoroughly, using light and exposure control creatively, and try to approach this assignment with a spirit of deep curiosity, and fun.

Now I think I will go with the "Reflections" theme, But i'm lacking different ideas of types of reflections I could use for my set of photos.

Can anyone help / assist with this?

Many thanks in advance for your help

Wow, reflections, there are so many thing to use.

City, trees, clouds reflected off a lake.
Any cityscape reflected off of a window.
Tall building reflecting puffy clouds.
A person staring into a mirror looking reflectively at themselves. (double reflection)
A person standing at a grave reflecting on the past.
A "out the window" car shot with the interesting thing being in the mirror.

Then you get into the whole mirror thing, not sure how much manipulation you can use, but

1/2 the subject is real and the other half is the mirror image of the first.
Strobe picture of a billiard shot. (lots of reflections here)
A beam of light in a dark room (with a bit of smoke) and some mirrors showing the light beam bending due to reflection.
A protest march showing signs where someone is trying to discredit someone else. Ok, it's a stretch. And there are so many more.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.
I used to hate math but then I realised decimals have a point.

^ Thanks for the ideas, Definitely some I will consider using.

Do you think I could get away with a "refraction" shot. Would that still fall under "Reflection"?

It's your class. :):) But technically refraction and reflection are different.

Here is how you would As this assignment. Don't use water as your source of your reflection. Use mirror or mirrors or windows. Something unconventional. Shoot macro on water drops on a single leaf and seeing the reflection on a single drop of water. :) Reflection of what???? Two, explore your feeling about what is reflection is to you. For me, is all the craps I had to endure in this world growing up. Yours could be some happy moment in your life in the past. If I need to reflect, I would reflect on my life. If you don't focus on the emotional side, your photos would only demonstrate your technical mastery which is devoid of theme.
