Neither of them are particularly good cameras, it seems hardly worth jumping off the Canon bandwagon for a second rate version of a Nikon.

The cost difference should be main criteria to decide. In India, 6D body is 10% cheaper. The big difference is with kit lens. 6D is with L lens while D600 comes with consumer grade zoom at similar price point. There is substantial difference between two lenses. Therefore choice should fall on 6D. ss.manak

M_Six Cream of the Crop More info | There are a few lenses Canon makes which have no equal in the Nikon world, like the 135L. If your favorite lenses aren't available as Nikons, you may want to reconsider jumping ship. Mark J.

Honestly the d600 isnt going to be any different in real world use. is outer AF point tracking a dealbreaker for anyone here? some might argue the points are so clustered together that you might as well use the central point to track instead..

Going 6D or D600 from a 5D2 is more like a side-grade. An upgrade should be either D800 or 5D3... I dont know about this. D800 doesnt offer anything over D600 (relevant to me anyway). The same with 5Dmk3 over 5Dmk2. It is just matter of requirements..

The only pro from 5D2 -> D600 is a slight DR increase and maybe slightly better AF. Build quality is probably worse than 5D2. To me that's really not worth the switch. 5D3 Gripped / 17-40L / Σ35 / 40 Pancake / Zeiss 50 MP / Σ85 / 100L Macro / 70-200 f2.8L II IS / 430 EX II / 580 EX II / Canon 2xIII TC / Kenko Ext. Tubes

Build quality will be better, well it is weather sealed at least anyway.
