It can be disabled. I've used it a few times and it can be annoying.

it is good to see that, '-3EV' isn't just marketing BS. I would prefer the option of a focus light thought; I can always just put my st-e2 on if I *need* that focus though I suppose (Dance floor at wedding?); just not as convenient. (I think red light less obtrusive than white)

I kind of like the wifi implementation on the 6D... being in photos with my kids would be the sole reason I would use it.

Just don't forget to hide the iPad once you're done composing!

I know I was being facetious. I had the image of a family in front of camera looking at iPad to see how the picture will come out and clicking the shutter with iPad still in the picture :D

I use my 6D with iPad with mirror lockup and 2 sec timer for landscapes, it works great for zero camera shake.

Can it do bulb mode?

Yes, it can - was one of the first things I tried out. What I don't like about the bulb mode is that you have to keep the button (on iPad) held the entire time.

With my XTi and RC-3 remote, I could do bulb mode with a single press to start and another press to complete the exposure. I would like to see that as an update to the EOS Remote app for usability.

Matter of fact it would be awesome (but probably only up to Magic Lantern) to have a timed bulb mode with the remote app that would simply let you enter a time and then keep the shutter open for that amount of time.

Maybe with ML we can get a hacked EOS remote app or an ML version that incorporates the additional ML software/firmware features such as timed bulb mode, intervalometer, etc.

Going to re-iterate that I held off on purchasing a 6D until the ML team 'cracked' it. Amazing piece of sorcery it is; and a big advantage when comparing to D600 imo. (Though; as the 6D ML code isn't merged into the unified base yet; it is technically a gamble still. I have faith they will get there though.)

I just got my hands dirty with magic lantern, and wow.... upgrade is on hold (5d2 is reborn with wings)... will wait till ported on the 6D. This focus peaking stuff has me really intrigued. Really want an articulating screen as well....

Hey I never saw you iterate it the first time :)

They "cracked" it pretty fast as the developer kit has been around for some time :) I haven't checked the ML forum in a while but I think we would see an alpha of some sort not too distant in the future. I was hoping to be able to contribute at some point but so far haven't had time to jump in to it.

So as I haven't checked you are saying there's already some working code available or a proper Alpha? I will check out.

I ordered my 6D the day they had 'Hello World!' running on it... :) Last I checked a week or two ago they were having some AF issues with the 6D port, as well as some bugs when you used wifi (first camera with wifi they've supported I believe); so it's still pre-alpha. Base 6D is *much* better than my 600d for basic usability (usable bracketing, wifi tether for manual focus on tripod, etc), but I'm most def missing some ML goodness (focus zebras).

I'll continue to check on it every week or two 'just in-case'.. :)
