We took my parents and the pups to Seven Islands a few weeks ago for a long walk. The weather ended up being gorgeous, glad I brought my 5D with the 35 f2 IS. This lens is quickly taking over as my most used and versatile lens. It's even making me leave my 24-105L at home when this would have been the go to for this kind of shooting. Plus I can bring it out when the light gets low ;).

There are probably so many ways that this photo could be better, but the way the moment was captured with the looks on the faces of the spectators...
- "How the heck does she pull that off?!?!"

Chill.

They are photos taken with the lens in question, of a subject common to a lot of users that have the lens or may be planning to purchase one.

Cheers, Damien

Amen!

Having two "monsters" of my own running around all over the place (5 and 1,5 years old) those photos tell me more about this lens than a bunch of buildings/sunsets/forests/fields - just because I can relate.

Another thing is that seeing these photos - taken with lenses (and sometimes with a camera) that I own - does leave me with a bag full of mixed emotions...

- They cause me pain because when I shoot my own kids the photos always come out quite crappy in comparison (nothing wrong with the motives - it's all about the guy pressing the button/doing the PP)
- But they're also a great inspiration in telling me what I can achieve once I manage to move from clueless to actually getting it... (Sometimes it feels like my "keeper rate" is more or less equal to what most people throw away)

I always wondered how the lens would be for astrophography work. Looks sweet!

Yeah, I suppose that was a little pissy on my part.
The pics of the little girl are demonstrative of the lens' capabilities, isolation and bokeh, and she is very cute.

I keep coming here hoping to see more creative photography, but that's on me.
I'll unsubscribe.

Cheers
