djr - I use mine along with the 135L on two camera bodies for weddings and it works great! Excellent for low light receptions (really good with flash) and gives that extra bit of separation over an f4 zoom lens.

Good to know thanks for the pictures. I am shooting my Niece wedding on Friday I was thinking of using my 35f2 is on one camera and my 17-55 on my other camera for the reception. Yes I have triggers and extra stands, flashes , batteries etc. ...

Next day, a day wedding. I think this was just before 1pm.
Here's a heavily back lit scenario. AF hit every time. Flash on-camera for fill. Exposure raised 1/2 stop in post, Eyedropper on white cloth, -32 yellow saturation. This particular room can make people look sickly. So even though the walls are a bit dull, most skin tone was returned to normal.

There's nothing special about this image, it's just documenting a toast, though I do like brides look to groom as best friend states how they met. I'm posting because this 35IS never lets me down during the wedding day. I would say I'm 90% to blame when there's a miss, unless it's extreme back lighting and that's more or less the camera's inability to recognize contrast.
