Yup!

Kind of wish Canon would make a 50mm version of this lens the quality never lets me down.

There's a lot of people, myself included, wishing they would make an IS 50mm. I also wish they would replace their also incredibly old 85f1.8 with an IS version. Bummer the 85 that's rumored to release soon is going to be an L. Too much for us average joes.

Heh if it's comes in at more than $2000 I could almost switch to a used Nikon D750 system plus 2 lenses for that much.

I'll put money down that it's comes in near $2200-2400.

f1.2 - $1900 (IF they keep this on the shelf- current 'sale' stays as regular price)
f1.4 IS $2200-2400

however my dream 'everyday joe' future lenses

50mm f1.4 IS $600 release ....... Needs to be internally focusing like the 35IS. No lens extending/situation where you can damage the AF
85mm f1.8 IS $700 release ....... I'll sell my Tam 85VC for this lens

The 24/28/35 IS trio was insanely overpriced when they released in 2012. I think they were in the $800s

That right there is what I really hope they put out next.

There's meant to be a few other lenses being announced with the 85mm f1.4 L IS so there's hope it could be a new 50 1.4

Canon was doing it right for last little while but new(er) releases like 25-105L II and 6D II are really turning me off, so they can come out with bunch of mediocre ef-s or underperforming EF lenses and charge top $ for it.

Recently purchased this lens. Really liking it so far.

Great lens! This almost makes me want to get into primes more...but $$$$$!

Finally got the lens, and I like it a lot!

Nice NYC shot. I can see my old apartment in Long Island City from here.

Took the 35mm f/2 IS to Italy with a 50mm stm. Shot 100% of the time with the 35mm on a 5DS R.
