There are fields upon fields of them out here in California during the summer. You have a window of about 1-2 weeks to photograph them once they bloom before they die and start drying out for harvest.

I used to have this lens on 6d and found it somewhat unremarkable. I rediscovered it now on 5div is a video workhorse. Brilliant stabilization, can’t think of another lens OIS that worked quite as well for video, almost Olympus IBIS level. DPAF is magical with this lens and much better than with 50L. AF is very loud but my Rode VMP seems to handle it well. It may not have the punch of L lenses in terms of microcontrast but it makes up for it wits its crazy resolution that result in some very punchy images and 4k videos!
For strictly stills, I’d still prefer 50L any day but as a versatile video/stills lens, there is no comparison, especially with 5div’s 1.74x crop.
